Watched "Big Fish" this morning...LOVED IT. I'll be buying the dvd soon. My brother had told me that it was really good but it was one of those that I just never got around to watching, so I finally caught it on satellite. I was teary-eyed by the end...probably would've been bawling like a girly-girl if the kids hadn't been in the room with me.

Saturday, July 9th was my wife's birthday and our first wedding anniversary. But we have absolutely no money--we just moved into a new place and haven't found new jobs yet. Life is shit sometimes.
But, I wasn't going to waste our anniversary and her birthday despite a lack of money. So we drove to Blockbuster. Dug up a large pile of spare change that had accumulated in my Blazer. And we rented:
John Waters: A Dirty Shame starring Traci Ullman, Johnny Knoxville, and Selma Blair.
If anyone tries to watch this film, try your very best to avoid the "Neuter Version" which is the heavily censored "R" version. It's really, very obviously censored at a great many points in the film. Weird movie.

Quorthon, Happy Anniversay and Happy Birthday to your wife. When's she going to post again? Or did we scare her off? A DIRTY SHAME, huh? You ole romantic, you. Good luck with finding jobs soon. Being out of work sucks the biggest rhino balls. 42nd Street, I rather liked "the pointless, name leeching remake bollocks" that was THE ITALIAN JOB. ;D

Ah, I don't know, but I really couldn't get into The Isle, even though it's been praised everywhere. And the remake of The Italian Job? A very good one, I'd say. Last film I saw: The Manchurian Candidate. Good acting, disappointing plot-wise. I expected much more from Jonathan Demme. PS: Quorth - best wishes to you and the wife!

Just Watched..
Wicker Park 2/4 stars
The first 30 minutes were a bore & I was wondering if this picture had an actual plot. Turns out, it wasn't that bad of a Love Triangle story.

Watched The Pacifier last night. The kids wanted to watch it and I wanted to watch Vin..so it worked out. ;D Thought it was pretty cute...not as funny as the previews made it out to be though.

"Striking Distance" - Very underrated. Nothing mind blasting, but a solid action thriller none the less.
And the great support cast is what really lifts it. Tom Sizemore in great form, nice turns from Tom Atkins, Brion James and John Mahony and some excellent barnstorming by the GREAT Dennis Farina.

I saw the film in a theatre when it was first released - before all the bad word'o'mouth. And I, too, quite liked it: Bruce is in fine form there (though he doesn't smirk in his film as much as people would probably like him to), the supporting cast is great and the ending - rather unpredictable.
