Recent viewings have been...... "Under Siege" "Naked Poison" - Rather lacklustre CAT III goings on. "The Undefeated" - Fun Wayne flick with a great score. The CRAPtastic crap fest "THE DEMON", with hammy Cameron Mitchell being the only thing worth watching.

The Triplets of Belleville - This is art. Watch only if you appreciate art, and were able to appreciate movies like Fantasia. The storytelling in this film was actually very unique as there was very little dialogue involved or needed. The story was nice, and it was a very smart flick.
But having seen it, I can say now that Finding Nemo WAS better.

Kill Bill: Vol 1 3/4 stars
Forgot about the great anime scene & also like the transition of color to black & white during the fight scenes. Instead of looking at a fake shower of blood, you really notice the sword play better because of this. Also there are scenes where Uma thinks back to the past, then the color changes to black & white as well. When this title gets re-released & if those scenes are in color, I think I'll pass. The artisic merit would be lost.

Sling Blade: Director's Cut 3/4 stars
Never seen the first release or film for that matter. I thought Billy-Bob was great. I could see him acting the walk & gestures, but the voice & frozen face must of been hard to do. The boy Frank (Lucas Black) looked familiar. I remember him from Crazy Alabama & after doing a search on imdb, I see he has also reunited with Billy-Bob in Friday Night Lights. I saw that film not long ago & didn't recognize him. Anyway, I felt that the story of Sling Blade was dry, not a lot goin' on in the plot department. Other than the characters rehasing old, mostly tragic memories, the 1 thing that kept me interested throughout was: What is Karl gonna do with his current living arrangements & will he step up to his friends somewhat foster parent? I reckon I liked this film.

"Dead Birds". Overly slow, but has some good gore, some excellent visuals and FX and a nice creepy atmosphere. Some of the dialogue is dreadfully muted though (the dialogue scene in bed was so bad i had to flick on the subtitles!) Something i see mentioned by others on the IMDB. And the twist was harder to grasp details wise once you really started to think about it. Good stuff though in general.

Also, when you listen to the DVD commentary you can find out that the bank robbery scene was filmed within the decorations built for Tim Burton's Big Fish - and the cost of building those would be several times higher than the whole budget of Dead Birds! I mean: this makes me like the film even more than I did before; considering the amount of money they had the f/x are pretty good there, aren't they? And let's not forget "this boy from E.T." - he grew up surprisingly charismatic, I'd say.

Watched "Team America:World Police" last night. It was ok, but I couldn't really get into it. The only parts that really made me laugh out loud were the vomiting scene & the sex scene. Oh, and the signal that the guy was supposed to give if he needed help or whatever.

The Aviator 4 starsDamn, what an excellent film. Didn't know Michael Mann had a part in the making of the film. Million Dollar Baby won best picture as you all know, but what other 3 films were nominated for best pic? Can't remember - 2004 Anyway, The Avaiator is the winner in my books.. so when I see Million Dollar Baby, it a better be gooda.

Last one I saw is The Interpreter. Good acting, pretty good music, some nice photography, but God I hated the plot! Unbelievable, artificial, pointless. Sorry but I just can't love a movie because it's pretty.

Last DVD I watched was HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS. Very cool movie. If you enjoyed CROUCHING TIGER... or HERO, you'll probably enjoy this one as well. I actually liked it more than HERO. Oh, and LDG, I'll probably see SITH one or two more times before it leaves theaters. Same as Episodes I & II. They're just not the same on home video. ;D
