Apparently the 1986 Transformers movie wasn't good enough!!

A Trip to the Moon- A surreal, unique trip that exhibits some early technicalities which would become very popular in the future. B+.
The Great Train Robbery- Another example of early cinema at it's finest. A cool action western. And the point-blank gun firing isn't old, even if it's 103 years old. B+.

On Christmas Eve:
DIE HARD (1988)
What? It takes place at Christmas! One of the all time greatest action flicks ever. Perfect.
10/10
On Christmas Day:
NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION (1989)
Back when Chevy Chase was still one funny mofo. Almost as good as the original.
7.5/10

Robocop marathon on Christmas, so saw all three intermiddently, if not continuously, and the original twice during so.

Garden State- Neat, romantic, compelling, and funny, Zach Braff, Natalie Portman, and Peter Sarsgard are wonderful in this poignant film about growing up and life in general. And I loved every minute of it. A+.

Hostel
Finally watched this. Lots of T&A at the beginning followed by some gruesome death followed by more death. ;D

Apocalypto- Although it's beautiful to look at and Rudy Youngblood gives a rousing performance, it's a film you want to like so much but you just can't. I'm not saying it's bad but it's like that. The biggest problem is that for a high-octane chase movie, it drags in some areas. B+.

A CHRISTMAS STORY (1983)
Cute, but unremarkable. My second time seeing it and I still don't get it's cult following. Kinda how I feel about GOONIES. Only I really hated GOONIES. I actually think this one's okay.
6.5/10
APOCALYPTO (2006)
Really liked this one. One of the best I've seen this year.
9/10

Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidora: All Monsters All-Out Attack-Despite the tongue-twisting title, one of the very best in the series with minor infractions against it that stop it from being more so. imdb.com/title/tt0279112/usercomments-63

Little Miss Sunshine -- still the best movie of the year. A+.
Happy Feet -- the best animated movie of the year. A-.
Superman Returns -- contains the best action sequence of the year (from what I've seen) with the saving of the airplane. Oh yeah, it's AWESOME. A-.
Talladega Nights -- disappointing Farrell, but it does have some moments. B-.

Blood Diamond- This is another film you want to like a lot but you can't because it's not good enough, but it's still good. There are no stand out performances and a lot of cliche moments. The film had potential but just didn't get there. I mean, you look at Edward Zwick, director of The Last Samurai, one of the best films of 03, and Glory, one of the best films of all time, and here he is just all over the place. The film is just too inconsistent to pack a punch. B-.
