Why didn't you buy it in London? Haven't you found it? That's the thing! While in London I could only buy Ghoul, Hangman and Bed Of Nails -- and that's after ten days of searching the city through and through!

Well I almost buried the city when I was looking for sequels to the Mayflower trilogy by Card without success. Now I learned that it wasn't even written already ;D

I'm a little over half way through Ghoul...love it, still trying to figure out how everything & everyone are connected. That's what I love about Slade, keeps ya guessing until the very last page!

Yay! I'm so glad you liked it LDG! Cutthroat is a much easier book to find on amazon and such. I haven't started mine yet (not ready for the horror yet - I'm reading 'THE LAST UNICORN which is, uh, a bit different).

Well, actually I was officially a fan after reading Headhunter...but I guess now I'm officially ANNOUNCING it. ;D I have a couple more books to read that I bought last weekend, but after that I'm getting Cutthroat.

YESS! Got my Cutthroat finally! Guess what I'm reading now, will you?
Actually, I opened it two seconds after the package arrived and am now beyond halfway through. A perfect Slade for everyone interested in the Chinese art of torture, I can tell you this much now. Made me wince MANY times already!

Just ordered Cutthroat and Ripper from Amazon so hopefully they'll be arriving soon! Been awhile since I've read any Slade, so I'm kinda anxious for some good horror.

I have read these two virtually back-to-back... and prepare yourself for doing the same, Livingdeadgirl, as Cuttthroat ends with a cliffhanger which only gets solved withing Ripper. Both books are great reads.

Swastika: I'm halfway through now, page 220 or something. It's great - but of course! - however, if someone doesn't feel like reading many a page about the final phase of WWII, the horrors of concentration camps and Hitler's last days, then this book will be a difficult one to get through: the WWII background makes for almost half of the book! The good news is, though, that it never drags too long - the "Now" and "1945" chapters are interwoven so masterfully that you never get bored with either the present day crime investigation or the historical parts.
So, who's already got Slade's latest?

I'm still trying to catch up w/ the old ones. Evil Eye is the next on my list. So it may be awhile before I get to the new one.
