"Day of the Triffids" - The BBC serial. Still holds up and is generally excellent viewing.
"Road to Perdition"

Watched Blue Velvet...it was only eh for me. What was probably taboo in 1984 is no longer now so it had no 'shock' value for me. Cool directing though (David Lynch).

That's what I thought when I first watched Blue Velvet. It's one of those films that hasn't aged that well, I mean in terms of shock. Eraserhead, now that is a movie that'll be the same forever. Out of all of Lynch's films I think that's the one that'll age the least.

The Breakfast Club. Dammit, I love the 80s.

"Ichi -1". Not really gory (though it gets pretty damn bloody) but VERY violent and a good liitle introduction to the character. Low budget, but very well made. Worth a look for "Ichi" fans.

Nice to hear something positive about it. I just watched Exorcist: The Beginning (as I just bought it used) while building my new storage rack for my DVD's and CD's. Also, the wife and I had the good fortune to finally catch Jet Lee and Morgan Freeman in "Unleashed" in the cheap theater ($4 total for the both of us). The first 15 minutes or so are kind of clumsey but it picks up. Excellent action and fight sequences, and sense of humor during lighter moments.

The Dead Zone starring Christopher Walken. Pretty good flick but had a real downer for an ending.

The Dead Zone starring Christopher Walken. Pretty good flick but had a real downer for an ending. Magnificent movie! For me it's up there with Cronenberg's best ("Crash", "Shivers", "Rabid") and never fails to please. Fantastic turn by Walken. The not as good as it should have been "Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning"

The Dead Zone starring Christopher Walken. Pretty good flick but had a real downer for an ending. A good movie but I like the novel even better... isn't it too cliche to say so, hmm? Anyway - the ending in the book is even more heartbreaking than in the movie. Last thing I saw: the original Dawn Of The Dead (the 127 mins version), first time on DVD for me. Have yet to listen to the commentaries and watch the doc. Heard they good?

"The Bad Pack" - OH DEAR!
How could a film that's basically a more violent "A-Team" episode mixed with "The Seven Samurai"/"Magnificent Seven", that stars Robert Davi, Roddy 'don't call me Rowdy' Piper, Marshall ''Road House' Teague and Vernon 'Mad Max 2' Wells be a complete stinker? Okay, okay...perhaps I was asking for it after all! And I got it! Lame baby...LAME!

"Hostage"...Not bad, but the 'disturbed teen' aspect was over the top and the plot a bit messy. Willis is always worth a watch though.

I've just watched Guinea Pig 2. A Japanese production. It was a real hardcore. A movie showing in detail in a documentary fashion the abduction and dismemberment of a young pretty girl. The man doing this speaks like a poet while doing the cutting & chopping. It looked so real that it was even the subject of FBI investigation when it was released in US. Horror 10/10 Makeup 10/10 Scenography 10/10 Acting 9/10 Blood & flying guts 15/10 I've always wanted to see those movies. I saw a box set of 'em in Best Buy.

Last seen: The Last House On The Left for the first time; hey: it's a good movie! Unlike The Hills Have Eyes it's really disturbing and surprising. Good, Mr. Craven!

Groovy! Walter Hill's 80's classic "Streets of Fire". It still pretty much holds up even today! Lots of fun.
