Was in Las Vegas for a convention this past weekend and went to the Imax to see
Magnificent Desolation:Walking on the Moon 3-D
As always, the whole Imax experience kind of is overwhelming but this was a great one.

Billy Wilder's excellent, set in Britain, Agatha Christie play adaptation "Witness for the Prosecution". A truly wonderful turn by the great Charles Laughton as the crabby Lawyer who won't do as his fussy Nurse tells him (a nice turn by Elsa Lanchester who works great with Laughton) while working on the defense for Tyrone Power who's accused of murder. Nice femme fatale turn by Marlene Dietrich too. A perfect mix of comedy and thriller.

Hannibal- A great, but highly flawed film with great performances from Anthony Hopkins, Ray Liotta, and Gary Oldman.

Hannibal is a dark, bold film. But it's also shite.

I heard it was supposed to be funny or a satire or something.
Speaking of funny movies I just watched The Opposite of Sex. Maybe there'll be a review, maybe there won't.

Hannibal is a dark, bold film. But it's also shite. Those shaky camera things? Totally unnesscary. Julianne Moore sucked. It was illogical in some parts. Otherwise, I liked it.

Hannibal is a dark, bold film. But it's also shite. That pretty much sums up my opinion of it too.

Last night Beavis & Butt-Head: Vol 1 - Disc 1 huh, huh
Just watched disc 1 of Cheers: Complete Season 7. Only 4 episodes on that disc. Didn't realise that season only has 22 all together.

THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE (2001) Very good ghost story set in an orphanage in Spain in 1939. How's that for an original setting? Written & directed by Guillermo Del Toro (MIMIC, BLADE 2, HELLBOY) "Many of you will die." 7/10

Two Evil Eyes 2/4
Posted my comments about it in the Viewing Suggestions thread in the Horror section...
In short, thought it was pretty good, looking forward to seeing more Argento stuff.

I watched Syriana last night.
It's not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination. It's very well-acted, well-photographed, and well-directed. I thought it got boring at parts and I never really knew what was going on the entire time, but it did have some good moments. And I jumped once despite myself. Thankfully my friend didn't laugh. I'd give this a...B-minus.

The stupendously dull and/or annoying Chuck Norris no-actioner "Silent Rage". For some mad reason people tend to rate this dross highly on the Chuckometer! Why? By all that's Holy...WHY? Avoid.
