Constantine: 2-Disc Deluxe Edition 2/4 stars
*spoilers*
People have said that the scenes from "Hell" were really good. I thought so too, but the film didn't have that many scenes, so was disappointing. The opening scene with the mexican was awesome. Totally caught me off guard & I thought he was killed the first time I saw it. I really liked the CGI on the demons & angels. The scene at the end with the devil & constantine was the highlight of the film for me. I liked the confrontation between the devil & that angel. The whole self-sacrifice bit was cool as we see the devil "try" to take constantine to hell. I wish we had more scenes with the mexican though & also felt the acting was sub-par as well as the overall story. I never read the Comic & this film doesn't give off that Comic vibe.. If I hadn't known it was based on a Comic, I would of thought this picture was just the average run of the mill hollywood flick.
Miss Congeniality: Deluxe Edition 3/4 stars

LADYHAWKE Medieval fantasy fluff with the most inappropriate mid-eighties synthesizer score. THE DEVIL THUMBS A RIDE Classic forties film-noir starring Lawrence Tierney, who would later enjoy a comeback in the nineties as Joe Cabot, the guy who puts together the gang in RESERVOIR DOGS. "It's my way or the highway!"

Watched "Collateral" this morning...it was ok. Still strange seeing Jamie Foxx doing anything but comedy, even after seeing "Ray.

Miss Congeniality 2 2/4 stars
Not a bad sequel. 5 years after the first one was released, I didn't think one was warranted. Well I put my foot in my mouth. If ya didn't like the first one, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone & if ya thought the first one was just ok, I'd recommend a rental. I was surprised that after 5 years Sandra kept the role in check, sorta speak.

The independent film, Immortal. VERY VERY STRANGE movie - CGI mixed with real people but done poorly. If you like Sci-Fi and Egyptian lore worth taking a look.

The original INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. Classic sci-fi paranoia flick. Hadn't seen it in years. Good stuff.

Excellent Japanese release (with DTS) of the complete Theatrical (and best) cut of Michael Mann's excellent "Manhunter". Far far better than "Red Dragon".

I LIKED Saw... but edited probably isn't very good.
Anyway, I just finished watching Schindler's List and am in the process of wiping the tears from my face. God, I love that movie.

Smitty,
'Edited' is the only dvd version out right now & it is the same as what was shown theatrically. I very much doubt I'll be buying the Un-rated version.
Well got these 2 titles in the mail & watched;
Jaws 2 2/4 stars - Almost like this one as much as the original. The video transfer ain't that great though.
Jaws 3 1/4 stars - PG - Thats what you rate a movie that shows vividly a half eaten corpse, a arm severed off, a deep leg wound & not to mention someone being eaten over & over again. Hmm, I wonder if the MPAA has even seen Jaws 3. Regardless, this sequel I liked very much, but the transfer on dvd is utter shit. I thought maybe my Tv was running low on lamp life. Half way through, I had to check an HD channel just to make sure. Wow, I don't think I have a dvd this poor of video quality. Good job Universal.
