"Dead and Breakfast" - Rather messy in the plot department, but otherwise this was a lot of fun, with a lot of heart and spirit, some well done gore, most;y successful humour and some great song interludes and generally it added up to solid Halloween funstuffs.

Just finished: It Waits, a weird monster movie from the director of the so-so House Of 9; improvement over House for sure, but still no genius.

Watched this morning: Dracula (1979) on AMC Hadn't seen this particular version before, only bits & pieces a while ago. And since you watched it on AMC, you've still only seen bits and pieces. ;D I keed! I keed! ;D heh.... Are there ANY channels on cable/satellite that don't edit? Besides HBO which sucks b/c they never play any good movies. I don't know why I pay for it. The only reason I keep it is for The Sopranos which hasn't been on in a freakin' YEAR!! But enough of my tirade... Watched this weekend: The Omen (yes...the TV version...) Nightmare On Elm StreetSignsDisc two of Forever Knight:Season One

So, what did your gut instinct tell you? Stuart Townsend See, I knew you were gonna say that... ;D Actually I like it b/c one, it's vampires, two it's Anne Rice & three..I dunno, it's just one of those movies to just pop in & watch when you have nothing else to do. I'm not saying it's the best movie in the world & I could be a petty fan-girl & nit-pick all the ways it differed from the novels, but it's fun to watch.

My Halloween viewing last night:
Evil Dead (greatest movie ever) Night of the Living Dead 1968 Return of the Living Dead
Didn't get to Candyman, The Blob, or American Werewolf in Paris--which were the other choices we had settled on.

My Halloween viewing last night consisted of:
POLTERGEIST (1982)
Not bad for a PG horror movie. While not particularly scary, think the scariest moments of another Spielberg production, the Indiana Jones movies, it is well acted, and the effects are pretty good. A horror movie for the whole family. 7.5/10
On the other end of the spectrum, send the kids to bed:
THE EXORCIST (1973)
This film is to Halloween, what IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is to Christmas. Still gives me chills though I've seen it many times. And the sound effects in 5.1 had me looking around several times. Classic. 9.5/10

We watched this last night for Halloween. It was just so-so for me - the gore was okay and all the actors are actually ones you would say 'I've seen you before....' so there wasn't the usual bad b-movie acting. The pacing is a bit off and the plot is silly. 5/10 Also watched "House of 1000 Corpses." I can't believe I hadn't seen it before! I guess I was under the impression it was going to be some kind of 2 hour long trippy music video but it was really funny, scary, and gore-filled with a good plot and great acting. The characters were very memorable IMO. I missed some of the backstory at the beginning because of all the trick or treaters but after my friend filled me in I 'got it'.' The ending was a bit cliche but otherwise I can't wait to see 'Devil's Rejects' which comes out to DVD shortly. A must see for a horror fan. 9/10

Someone else here who actually likes this movie besides me! ;D I think everyone else around here pretty much loathes it. And Devil's Rejects comes out next Tuesday.

I was surprised & shocked at how good House of 1000 Corpses was considering Rob Zombie directed it. I didn't hate the film & would rate it 2/4 stars
Today watched;
Star Wars: Episode III 3/4 stars & Fever Pitch 2/4 stars

I DID hate House of 1000 Corpses. A lot. I consider it the worst film of 2003... next to From Justin to Kelly.
The Devil's Rejects on the other hand was actually really good. I'd own it on DVD.

You can include me on the 'love list' for "1000 Corpses"...I still fail to see what so many people were finding to bitch and whine about. Pissed on most other horror releases of the past 10 years at least, esp from America.

Pissed on most other horror releases of the past 10 years at least, esp from America. I liked it alright, but I see what the problems were: It was basically a plotless, feature-length music video based on Texas Chainsaw Massacre but set up to look like some sort of drug trip. Most of the characters were pretty weak. It was more shocking and violent than pretty much all major-studio horror films in the past 5 or so years, but that was all.

Well, geez...I coulda swore there were more people here that hated it....guess Smitty just loathed it so much that it SEEMED like that. He was spreading the bad movie karma around. ;D
Fixing to watch: More Forever Knight
