Ah, Brando at his weirdest. I thought it was interesting, but ultimately not that good.
Ever see any of the other versions? ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU (1977) Burt Lancaster as Moreau. ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1933) Charles Laughton as Moreau.
Last night we watched:
BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE (2003)
Pretty crummy. If cliches, racial stereotypes and predictible plots are your cup of tea, then this is the movie for you. I can't believe this was a big box office hit. Steve Martin is much better than this tripe. 3.5/10

Just saw: Battle Royale, finally. Good, of course, but I expected more. Gets 6,5/10 from me. Come on: Turkey Shoot was better!

Today's viewings: Excellent 70's Brit horror with Cushing and Lee in the form of "The Creeping Flesh"And on the Uk Horror Channel... "Pumpkinhead" - Actually a bit better than I remember. Nothing great though. "The Invisible Maniac" - Breasts, more breasts, arses, forced sub sandwich eating, death by jumping upon, even more breasts, shotgun splatter, crappy/fun acting, dead jocks, a few more breasts, more arses, bad jokes, flying bras, a fight between *two* invisible people and damn it...MORE breasts!

Hey, Bart. I don't think you ever told me what you thought of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou? Were you one of the people that aboslultey hated that movie or loved it? Hmm, I've got really mixed feelings about Life Aquatic: love the acting, love the crazy feel of it all but... what is it exactly? Too weird to be a comedy, too funny to be a drama. Anyway: I like it much better than Rushmore, that's for sure.

Million Dollar Baby--sad. Maybe it should've won the Best Picture, but I still think it was a cop-out to not give Scorsese one. Grrr. Damned Oscars.
Jin-Rah: The Wolf Brigade--I lost interest right away and fell asleep. What the...?! I never fall asleep during movies.

"The Spy who Came in from the Cold" - Vintage Burton! Another powerhouse performance with THAT voice being used to full effect. Various episodes of the wonderful "Married with Children" season 4 Started "The World at War" again. And re-visited the lovely and talented Mylene Farmer again on "Music Videos 2 & 3" which includes the Abel Ferrara directed "California"

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid- Funny movie in the tradition of "Zelig," in fact it even surpasses "Zelig."
What's Up, Tiger Lily?- Allen at a silly best.
Swamp Thing- A comic-book movie basking in awesomness.

Fight Club--the most sadistically violent, homoerotic movie ever made. Yay!
Batman Begins--that Christopher Nolan. He had to go and make Batman awesome again.
