Rope -- experimental Hitchcock, darkly comic and then incredibly intense. B+.

Young Frankenstein - One of the greatest comedies ever made. PUININ' THE IIIIIZZZ... A+
A Nightmare on Elm Street - The best of the series, a genuinely creepy villain screwed up by countless sequels. A-

Robin Williams: Live on Broadway--where are my 71 Virgins? No, it's 71 Virginians you asshole! Comedic gold. Haha, I loved that one. Ha! Me too! We have had my father-in-law over for this past week so I watched Creature from the Black Lagoon with him on AMC. Still the best rubber monster suit! It was fun to watch, I really enjoyed it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) - I think I liked it better the last time I saw it. But for $5, I suppose I could have done a lot worse. Besides, there are a few moments that were pretty cool. C+
Movie police will be glad to know I haven't yet seen the original. I'm still waiting for it to be available on Netflix.

Movie police will be glad to know I haven't yet seen the original. I'm still waiting for it to be available on Netflix. I saw it a couple of years ago, but I had to rent it on VHS because my local Ballbuster Video didn't carry a dvd version. However, they have lots of dvd copies of the remake. I haven't bothered to rent it though. Just watched: FASTER, PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL! (1965) Very cool! Trashy, violent and sexy B-Movie by Russ Meyer. Fast cars driven by faster women dominate this flick about three go-go dancers who go on a crime spree. The kind of movie that drive-in theaters were invented for. Filmed in beautiful black & white and even has, dare I say, good cinematography. 8/10

The Break Up (2006)

This one surprised me. Thought it would be a typical romantic comedy crapfest.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban -- the best of the Harry Potter films (and books), mainly because director Alfonso Cuaron (Y Tu Mama Tambien) decided to put all the fantasy elements on the backburner and focus on the characters, so it's almost like a piece of magic realism (there was this guy, obvioulsy jealous that writers who were apparently magic realists were better than him, said the magic realism is just fantasy in Spanish which is totally demeaning to the style but Cuaron is obvioulsy). Cuaron actually brings out really good performances and a great style. One part is a little rushed but that's okay because the rest of the movie works so well. A.

El Topo -- I'm not gonna lie. That was a bit bizarre. Which isn't to be confused with weird where everyone goes "WHAT THE -- ?" Like in "Eraserhead". It was more like an "ohhh...kay" kind of thing. I don't think I can even rate it though.

The Defiant Ones- Not the best runaway convict(s) movie ("The Fugitive" is), but Tony Curtis does great though. ***.
Clerks II- Probably the third best film Smith has done. Funny and charming. ***.

Labyrinth -- it's a bit bizarre. And David Bowie's pants are much too tight. But it's imaginative and the little guy with the dog horse is great as well as many other cool visuals but what else could you expect from a Jim Henson picture? The story's a bit lacking and Jennifer Connelly isn't quite the actress that she is now but WHATEVER! B.

Body Heat- Has nothing new to offer to the film-noir genre. Good performances though. **.
