Mysterious Skin - This was by far the most disturbing fucking movie I've ever seen. But you know what? Perfect direction, flawless screenplay, excellent actors, and if you can look past all the fucked up shit going on, great story. So while I know this incredibly sexually deviant movie is going to give me nightmares tonight, I know that I have at least watched one Hell of a film, and one of the best movies I've seen in a long time... which unfortunately fell victim to the NC-17 rating. A+

A Love Song For Bobby Long 3/4- Excellent. Great performances all around (Scarlett Johansen, John Travolta, Gabriel Macht) I loved that movie. Goldfinger - The best Bond film there is... Actually, it's a close race between this one and GoldenEye, but this is definitely up there. Besides, no one can do Bond like Sean Connery. A

What happens when you have a day-off from school-
Black Sunday-Mario Bava's unequivical Gothic masterpiece, almost beating Roger Corman at his own game. Incredibly impressive affair the second time around. The Italians can't seem to do anything wrong.
House by the Cemetery-After the second viewing of this, found it more confusing than before. May have to update my review of it from before, but it's still a solid Fulci affair.
Super-Troopers-Been so long since I've seen this one uncut that it's miles funnier now than it ever was on Comedy Central. The best way to view movies.
Down Periscope-Proof of two things: Grammer is funny without "Frasier," and Rob Schneider works best when surrounded by funny men, not being forced to provide most of it himself.

Wilderness - another good, gritty British survival horror. For all those who loved Dog Soldiers, but not quite as good (and with no werewolves).

The Devil's Backbone- An excellent film (del Toro's best) with great performances and beautiful cinematography. I watched that one not too long ago...really liked it. The Ring 2 2/4- Too long & too predictable...

WILLARD (2003)
Haven't seen the original 70's version since I was a kid so can't compare them, but most of the elements I remember from the original seem to be in place. Put upon lonely guy named Willard, his bullying, overbearing boss, an army of rats led by a white mouse named Socrates and a larger, darker one named Ben. Mostly campy and a bit overacted, but then, the original probably was as well. A nice touch was that a painting and photos seen in the film of Willard's deceased dad, are actually of actor Bruce Davison, who played Willard in the original version.
6/10

The Black Dahlia
I don't know what it is with the critics. They seem to keep failing at the simple task of telling a good movie from a bad one... and they were WAY off the mark this time... because this was the best movie of the year. Hands down. It would be difficult for any film to get better than this.
Now maybe I'm biased because I like film noir, but this is one Hell of a film noir. I honestly couldn't find anything wrong with it. Every actor was great, every line of dialogue was great, and Brian DaPalma's direction... People, Brian DaPalma has made some mistakes over the past decade, but he's back. He's back in top form.
So once again, ignore the critics. Make your own choice. You won't regret it. A+

Have you ever thought that maybe you're the one not recognizing a bad movie?
Just a thought.
Bad TV's what gets me.
