Hollywoodland--a fascinating study, theory of what really happened to George Reeves. Ben Affleck actually gives a good performance...when was the last time that happened? Adrian Brody, as always is good. B.

Have you ever thought that maybe you're the one not recognizing a bad movie? Just a thought. Bad TV's what gets me. Yeah, but I'm actually quite good at recognizing bad movies... and even if that were the case, I wouldn't consider it as great as I consider this movie. In other words, it wouldn't have received an A+.

The Empire Strikes Back - The way it's supposed to be watched. These effects did NOT need to be updated. Also, the best in the series. A+

Snakes on a Plane--horrible writing, stereotypical, archetypal characters, predicatble storyline, bad performances, cheesy CGI...it took four grown people to write this and they can't come up with better lines than "You remember what I said the first time we met? You listen and you live."? Seriously, kids in sixth grade have written better sounding sentences than the ones presented here. It's funny, but I don't think it's supposed to be funny and it's entertaining for all the wrong reasons. I'm glad I only paid two dollars. D.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY (1991)
Fun, big screen adaptation of the 60's tv series and comic strip by Charles Addams. The late great Raul Julia (Gomez), Angelica Huston (Morticia) and Christina Ricci (Wednesday), steal the show whenever they're on-screen. Wednesday is like the poster girl for Goth kids. Great effects are used to allow the hand, Thing, the freedom to roam around outside of the box he was confined to on the series.
7/10

I was listening to Filmspotting and they brought up a good point. The whole thing would've worked better had it been renamed "Pacific Air Flight 121". I mean, that's a somewhat serious title. I knew what I was getting I knew what was going to happen and I did think it was somewhat entertaining, but it's not something I'd ever want to see again. My D stands for me Plus, if it's an intentional B-movie, it falls into the category and comparison of other intentional B-movies. Like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Star Wars". And those films are so well-done and amazing that they're better than most 'A'-movies out there.

Insomnia - In my opinion, Christopher Nolan's weakest movie. But that's like saying Return of the Jedi is the weakest Star Wars. By that I mean, it's not necessarily an insult. After all, we ARE comparing it with Memento and Batman Begins. Insomnia was a well-crafted, beautiful-looking, well-acted, well-directed thriller that's Hitchcockian in nature. Christopher Nolan is an excellent director who doesn't get the recognition he deserves. A

I mean, his name already sells movies, he's got famous for "Momento" and then bigger with "Batman Begins". "The Prestige" will probably make a killing. He's one of the most respected directors today. So I'm failing to see how he's not recognized. Is it weird that I like all his movies except for "Momento"?

The Heirloom - a beautifully looking ghost film from Taiwan. No fun for gore-hounds, though. 6/10
