What about Out Of Exile, Heineken? They got softer the Audioslave guys, didn't they? I'd have to pop in the previous CD in order to give you an honest answer, but it sounds similar to me. Not heavier, not lighter. It sounds like Audioslave, which wasn't really a metal band to begin with. More like just a good rock band with an edgy sound and catchy melodies. I like it quite a bit.

I got The Simpsons: Yellow Album for like...$2! Pointless memoribillia.
I had to buy another copy of I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings by Radiohead because my copy snapped. And that made me sad and angry.

I'm just now getting around to listening to my copy right now. So far so good. More of the same great stuff that they usually put out.

There are some truly genius guitar parts on Out Of Exile: especially two catchy moments that always thrill me to the bone.
Bought today:
Brazen Abbot "Bad Religion" Brazen Abbot "Eye Of The Storm" Masterplan "Aeronautics"
All very good hard rock albums.

Hypocrisy: Virus
Atmospheric Death Metal--and they're finally getting heavier and more Death-like again! Peter's time in Bloodbath did him well!

The guitar riffs really stood out. Good stuff! I think after a couple of more listens I MIGHT find I like this one better than the first.

Picked up today: Alice Cooper "DIRTY DIAMONDS" (Hey Bart!!) Hey there! I hope you won't be disappointed with it: as I wrote before, it may be a soft album but the melodies make me melt every time I listen to it. Waiting to hear what you think of it!

Nickelback "ALL THE RIGHT REASONS" How is that one? The only song I've heard from it is Photograph. I've always liked Nickelback...much to the chagrin of my brothers... Just wondering if the new ones worth picking up.

Just got...
Franz Ferdinand's new CD, You Could Have It So Much Better. I don't think it's as good as their first album, but I really like it.

Today's buys: Gamma Ray "Majestic" Edguy "Superheroes" MCD Waited for these a long, long time. Great buys, Bart. Gamma Ray have outdid themselves with this, I think, as for a long time I thought Powerplant was their greatest album. That one is really growing on me. Another good pick on the Edguy one, sounds like Rocket Ride should be a fantastic album. My last one: The Black Halo by Kamelot. A perfect mixture between Epica and Karma.

I agree that "Majestic" is one of Gamma Ray's best; "Powerplant" is good, too, but my favourites so far were "Sigh No More" and "Land Of The Free". By the way: I was so damn pissed when Ralph Scheepers was kicked out of the band! ...but Hansen is singing better and better with each album.

I know, I was a little mad myself, but, you know, Primal fear ain't the worst band in the world. I actually kind of like them a lot, too. What's your opinion on Primal?

I agree that Primal Fear is a very good band - just not as great as Gamma Ray; for example, I got Primal Fear's new album (Seven Seals) several days before getting Gamma Ray's new album and have already come to like Majestic much more: it just has better guitar riffs, better melodies (though let's admit this: the title track of Primal's latest kicks ass!). Scheepers was born to sing in Gamma Ray - that's why I was so pissed.
My favourite Primal Fear album is, I think, Nuclear Fire; their debut album is the only one I still haven't listened to. Much recommended: History In Fear a DVD+CD treat which sports two very good live performaces of the band; here's Scheepers with hair, there he's bald and looking truly threatening.
