That's true, slayrrr. And coming back to the title of this thread - last album I purchased was Wolfsbane's "Wolfsbane Save the World". I was never a huge fan of the band - even though I did LIKE them when I heard them - but this CD is simply beautiful!

Last album purchased: 4Arm's "Submission for Liberty". Damn solid thrash album from Australia.

Electric age was killer, but I didn't think it quite matched Ironbound. Dark Roots I found was a bit of a let down. Both albums, though, still make my top ten thrash albums for the year.
I have heard nothing but good things on Stalingrad, but I've yet to hear it.
My latest purchase: Witchtrap - Vengeance is my name. German styled thrash from Colombia, production a little clean but otherwise good stuff.

Wait until tomorrow, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with my choices. Just got them finished so they're ready to go up for the new year.

Hatriot - Heroes of Origin
Killer thrash album from Steve Souza's new band. Sounds a lot like Exodus in places. Will be in the top 3 thrash releases of 2013. Yes I'm calling it that early.

I am too, I felt the same way. With what I know so far being released, I'm thinking Sodom has as close of a chance of beating it as I can think of but again, it's only January so I don't know much about the middle half of the year. But I'm with you, that's definitely Top 3 material.

Sodom is a chance, there's also a new Heathen coming, a new Essence, a new Gama Bomb and a new Violator. All of those hold promise for.me. Plus there's a new Mortillery as well. Pity it's so damn quiet on the release front just now.

Okay, I can see Essence, Heathen and Violator joining my list as well. Also, be on the lookout for a Thrash act called Anger as Art that released a solid effort called Hubris Inc. which is starting to get some nice play around my parts and some of it's out-and-out impressive. If you see it around, at the very least look into it.

You were right to keep Gama Bomb out of your reckoning... they keep their speed, but for some reason this one is just unexciting.
BTW, have you heard the new Megadeth single? Terrible terrible song, sounds like a rejected track from the Risk album. My expectations on the new Megadeth have dropped considerably.

No, I'm about a week or so behind on my Blabbermouth readings, I know it was released since the announcement was in the headlines when I logged on a few days ago but I'm not up-to-date as it were so I haven't heard it yet. Strangely, though, that doesn't surprise me to read that as their last album hasn't grown on me the way 'United Abominations' and 'Endgame' did, hence why those will probably still see rankings for their year if I ever re-do them while I can see the last one getting kicked off quite easily. To know that they're heading back in the direction they took when I wanted them kicked out of the Big 4 for what they were doing doesn't shock me.
