Paul Simon's too short to be Satan. ;D Yeah, he's more like Satan's Little Helper. ;D Heh....

I've read the biography of S&G's some time ago and according to it Simon WAS the duo's Satan. Art was just a harmless weirdo. Yeah, I guess it's like they say, it's the ones who look "normal" that you have to watch out for.

Just got Radiohead's Pablo Honey, the last Radiohead album I needed. Circuit City was having a sale where all their single-disc albums were only $9.99, so that was awesome.

But say you're in a bar one night and there's a real quiet guy sitting at the end of the bar reading a book, minding his own business. And while you're watching that quiet guy, there's a guy in the back of the bar, banging a machete against the wall yelling: 'I'm gonna kill the next motherfucker that comes in here!!' Now who yah gonna watch?" George Carlin

I just got a bunch of stuff from Bart. But the only one I would count here (in that it's an actual CD with case and booklet and whatnot) is: Lost Soul: Chaosphere.

Yes, glad you got it, Quorth. I'm interested in what you may think of it: the music being death metal I just couldn't listen to it myself.

Death Metal isn't for everybody--and it's not something you just jump into. The music is fast and thick, so it takes some adjusting of perspective before you can hear everything it offers--some melodies and harmonies, interesting riffs, solos, vocal work, etc. Vital Remains (with Deicide's vocalist Glenn Benton on vocals) actually was the first time I'd ever heard growling being carried on a melody--actual singing while growling. Five years ago I wouldn't have been able to recognize it. I had to "ease my way" into the stuff with psuedo-Death Metal, heavier Thrash Metal, and eventually, Melodic Death Metal and "fusion" Death-Thrash bands (Usurper from Chicago is a good example of that stuff). Now, generally, I can listen to the extremely heavy stuff (Brutal Death, like Hate Eternal) and enjoy it.
Black Metal is another story altogether--it often requires stark religious and political views (this is where Nazi-Metal bands tend to procreate), and an appetite for something more chaotic (but not necessarily as brutal) than Death Metal--deliberately low production values are the norm. Cradle of Filth (UK) and Dimmu Borgir (Norway--both technically "Symphonic Black Metal") are considered the "sell-outs" of the genre, and do not accurately represent it.
Death Metal holds a special honor in the world of Metal--it's about the only genre that hasn't drastically changed from it's roots, and has almost no "sell-outs." It's stability and growth have kept it steadily alive without mainstream success. Only a single band has ever had a platinum release: Cannibal Corpse.
Hey, here's a question for you guys: What movie did Cannibal Corpse appear in? And I'm sure everyone here has seen it.

I KNOW I saw it... but can't remember it now for the hell of it.
Getting old sucks.

Picked up yesterday: "OUT OF EXILE" by Audioslave and "TEN THOUSAND FISTS" by Disturbed. Disturbed actually does a really good, and heavy, version of "Land of Confusion" by Genesis! How fucked up is that??

The Velvet Underground and White Light/White Heat, both by the Velvet Underground.
I need to pick up a new copy of I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings by Radiohead, though. My copy mysteriously snapped.

Well, if he was. He'd be spinning. Spinning, I tell ya!
