Ok, this is actually the first CD I've purchased, well... ever. My previous source of music has been Limewire, Kazaa, Morpheus and Napster. So me actually going out and buying a CD must say a lot about the recording artist. Congrats on your first CD purchase. Ironically, I've never, not once, downloaded a song, and all of my music has been purchased on CDs, and vinyl before that. My very first CD was Ozzy Osbourne's "Diary of a Madman". Which I had also previously bought on vinyl. I could be wrong, but I think the ability to download songs and iPods are hand-in-hand slowly killing the music industry. Hear hear! Actually I download songs a lot too but I end up buying the CDs they're on most of the time anyways. MP3s are just numbers punching out something through your system. CDs, vinyls, tapes...you're actually holding the music in your hand. You can flip over the disc (or just stare straight at it) and know that it's all there. It's much more exhilerating. That being said, I do like my MP3 player. It's very convient for walking around with because you don't have to carry a bunch of discs. But I listen to the real things at home. Didn't we have a first CD thread at one point? I remember mine was the "Jurassic Park" soundtrack.

Okay, during Family Day (before graduation), I bought a new discman and three CD's:
The Crown: Crowned Unholy Black Label Society: Shot to Hell Strapping Young Lad: SYL
Then, when I got to AIT, they made me pack it all away. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it back in a couple weeks.
A couple agonizing weeks.

Ha, ha - I could have guessed you'd buy this, Livingdeadgirl! Anything surprising on the album?

Now how could you have guessed? ;D Nothing suprising...the only new material is their cover of We're An American Band, but I'd heard that on the radio and when I saw them the last time. It's a good cover though, they did a good job.

Yeah, I like The Long Road much better, there are only a couple of songs on this one (Photograph, Rock Star) that I REALLY like. It's not a cd that I can just listen to all the way through.

New album from Polish heavy metallers, The Chainsaw: "A Sin Act". After two listenings it's already one of my 2006 favourites.

Besides those two songs I also like ANIMALS, I think it's called. ROCK STAR's good, but it's kind of a second-rate COVER OF THE ROLLING STONE by Dr. Hook. Remember that one?

Cradle of Filth - Thornography. Not their best but good all the same.

I really want to get that one. From what I've heard so far, it's really good. And it's right in their style that I like, the more modern Death/Thrashing Black Metal.
