The Mummy (1998)-I forgot how good this one was. I don't know what it is about it, but I really enjoyed this one when it came out and is hasn't been diluted. Still think it's pretty suspenseful and creepy, has some great action, a couple great jokes, a fantastic plot, oodles of fun and plenty to enjoy about it. Really not all that bad. 9/10

MR. WARMTH: THE DON RICKLES PROJECT (2007)
Well made documentary by John Landis (ANIMAL HOUSE, AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON) which mostly consists of footage of legendary insult comic Don Rickles and interviews with him and his friends and peers.
Some of the people interviewed are Bob Newhart, Debbie Reynolds, John Stamos, Billy Cyrstal, Clint Eastwood, Rosanne Barr, Robin Williams, Chris Rock, Robert De Niro, Jeff Atoll, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Whoopi Goldberg, Christopher Guest, Sidney Poitier and Martin Scorsese.
Besides the concert footage and interviews, there are numerous clips from his appearances on the Tonight Show (The "real" Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, not the ass-kissing, watered down Jay Leno version), celebrity roasts, and his film appearances. It's refreshing to see a personality whose act is so politically incorrect, but still manages to be loved by everyone. And honestly, the concert stuff is just damn funny. At 80 years old, when it was filmed last year, the man is still as sharp as a guy in his thirties.
If all you know about Rickles is that he was the voice of Mr. Potatohead in the "TOY STORY" movies, then you owe it yourself to check out why this icon is so beloved. It's not a groundbreaking documentary by any means, it's more of a loving tribute, but I was definitely entertained.
8.5/10

I Am Legend- Really enjoyed this one. The special effects weren't great at all (the creatures that is. New York looked great). Will Smith did excellent work, as usual, and you really feel for his character. It is tense, mysterious, and a great (practically) one man show. There are some plot holes though and the usual deus ex machina but thart's excusable. Go see it. B+.

I Am Legend (2007, Francis Lawrence)
Very enjoyable flick. Will Smith is put to the test by carrying the movie all by himself, and he does it - well. Aside from being one of the best post-apocalyptic set pieces I've ever seen (take THAT, Resident Evil Apocalypse), this one offers a good deal of suspense and an even greater deal of resonating eeriness throughout. 8/10
Mrs. Miniver (1942, William Wyler)
This one caught me by surprise. I never realized just how historically significant this movie was, but being a call to action for England back in World War II kind of brings it that significance. It tugs at your heartstrings, even today, so I could only imagine how powerful the impact was back then. Greer Garson is fantastic, and William Wyler effectively built suspense in the air raid sequences. This is one I believe stands the test of time. 9/10
Rob Roy (1995, Michael Caton-Jones)
I think this one's underrated. Rob Roy is an exciting period piece with great costumes, sets and cinematography. The story was well-thought-out and the dialogue exquisite. Liam Neeson, Jessica Lange, Tim Roth and Brian Cox were excellent. Its biggest failing would be in the timing of its release - a little too close to Braveheart. But I really enjoyed this one. 8/10

Juno (2007, Jason Reitman)
Best described in three words: original, intelligent, hilarious. Diablo Cody wrote a fantastic screenplay surrounding one of the most memorable characters I've seen all year (portrayed wonderfully by Ellen Page). This is one of those few movies I believe deserves all the hype. 9/10
Blazing Saddles (1974, Mel Brooks)
Is Bismarck a hewwing? 10/10

INFAMOUS (2006)
Tells the same story as 2005's CAPOTE, which I also recently watched, how Truman Capote came to write the book, "In Cold Blood". I'd say it's as good if not better than CAPOTE and Toby Jones is as equally good as Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the lead role. Seeing these two films back to back has made me want to read the book.
8/10

Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007, Tim Hill)
I had very low expectations for this film, but it's really not bad. I actually found it pretty funny. Kids will probably enjoy it more than adults, but I watched the cartoon when I was a kid, and I thank the filmmakers for not destroying it. Jason Lee does a pretty good job acting with characters that aren't there, too. 7/10
La vie en rose (2007, Olivier Dahan)
Marion Cotillard gives one of the year's strongest performances. She did a great job getting in character, and playing that same character at different stages of her life. It took me a while to realize she was the same actress who played Billy Crudup's wife in Big Fish - the make-up artist did a very good job with her as well. I was very impressed. 8/10
