Midnight Kiss-Really impressive vampire film with a lot better action and respect for tradition than expected. imdb.com/title/tt0107571/usercomments-7The Dark (1994)-Not that impressive, but it does have a really nice sense of fun and does have a few really good moments in there. imdb.com/title/tt0109551/usercomments-14Primeval-Call me a sucker for these kinds of films, but this was actually a fun time without a whole lot wrong with it. imdb.com/title/tt0772193/usercomments-133Something Beneath-Doesn't have a whole lot wrong, but the flaws that are there come mainly from the creature in an otherwise fun film. imdb.com/title/tt0896040/usercomments-3Q: The Winged Serpent-Brilliant at times, maddening at others leaves this one feeling decent overall. imdb.com/title/tt0084556/usercomments-67Wes Craven's Carnival of Souls-When it uses it's shock moments, it's really great, but too much time is spent building up to lackluster moments. imdb.com/title/tt0120627/usercomments-76The Stepfather-Hard to really say about this one, as it doesn't feel like a slasher at all but as a thriller, really subpar. imdb.com/title/tt0094035/usercomments-66The Stepfather 2-Doesn't have a whole lot more on the predecessor, but at least fixes the slasher stylings. imdb.com/title/tt0098385/usercomments-25The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning-Only useful for gorehounds, as too much wrong otherwise for this to be worthwhile. imdb.com/title/tt0420294/usercomments-355

Spiderman 3 (Sam Raimi) -- this movie was all kinds of lame. Too many villians, too much whining, and too much just plain stupidity trying to be hip and cool. C.

Love in the Time of Cholera (Mike Newell) -- Skip the movie. Read the book. C+. For a movie you're advising people to skip, C+ sounds awfully generous. Does it have redeeming qualities to it? I've kind of been interested in seeing it. Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002, Jay Roach) There are some movies I saw around this time that I thought were hilarious, but after viewing them recently, found them significantly less funny. Films like Not Another Teen Movie, Scary Movie 2 and Dude, Where's My Car. Goldmember was NOT one of these movies. Shoot me, this movie is still funny! I laughed my ass off watching this thing. And the backlot intro was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. "My friend here says it's fine the way it is." 8/10

ÆON FLUX (2005)
Huh? What? Oh, sorry. Dozed off for a minute there. No, really. My eyes glazed over... Guess Charlize Theron didn't want Halle "CATWOMAN" Berry to be the only actress to win an Oscar and then immediately slip into a tight costume and put out a horrible superhero-type movie.
2/10

I've kind of been interested in seeing it. Technically it's specatcular. There's some great cinematography and music (even from Shakira) and Javier Bardham...well, you can never really go wrong with him, right? And besides, compared to other movies of its type..."A Walk to Remember," that beach house one, it's stands above. But if you want the story, if you want to understand everything that Gabriel Garcia Marquez was trying to do, to explore, and everything, you need to read the book. I was planning on writing a review eventually, which was why my comment was so short.

SAW II (2005)
Oh, that crazy Jigsaw!! ;D
A little better than the first SAW, ie: bigger budget and the acting isn't nearly as embarassing. But like the original, it depends too much on everybody acting just as stupid as the killer expects they will, in order for all the traps to work. For instance, if the note says, "Don't use this key to open the door.", and someone in the room decides to do it anyway, would you pick that exact moment to put your eye right up to the peephole to see what's on the other side? Logic would tell you to get the fuck away from that idiot with the key and let something really bad happen to him. And don't even get me started on the chick who stuck her hands into the glass box and then couldn't pull them out for fear of cutting them off.
Again, Jigsaw is very clever, but his victims are extremely stupid.
Oh well, at least I wasn't completely bored. ÆON FLUX, I'm looking at you.
6/10

No Country for Old Men (Joel and Ethan Coen) -- quite probably one of the best, if not the best, movies of the year. A. Glad you liked it. I'm gonna be watching it tonight. Enchanted (2007, Kevin Lima) Those of you waiting for Disney's glorious comeback, wait no more. This is Disney's best non-Pixar flick in years. YEARS. Unlike films such as Brother Bear and Meet the Robinsons, where they attempt to kind of force it on you, Enchanted brings you the magic naturally. And Amy Adams gave one of (if not) the best female performance of the year. In my opinion, this was actually a better send-up to Disney fairy tales than Shrek. And I loved Shrek. 9/10

Live Free or Die Hard (Len Weisman) -- actually really entertaining...as long as you watch the original cut, where John McClane is allowed to be John McClane. Sure, there are some overly ridiculous moments and I don't know why people think slow-mo is cool, but this is probably the best, most entertaining installment since film number one. And you can't really touch that anyway. B+.
