Christopher Plummer who in almost every role always seems like he's up to no good before he even opens his mouth. Just like in Must Love Dogs...sick bastard. Dating his daughter.

The Matrix Revisited
It was an interesting behind-the-scenes look at one of Hollywood's greatest technical achievements, but honestly, did it DESERVE its own DVD? I mean, it's like a Disc 2 on a Special Edition DVD, except it was sold separately from the movie. Bad move on their part. Still, it's worth a look... and if you got the Ultimate Collection, you have this documentary. So there you go. A

Clerks II
I liked the sentimental ending. Nice touch.

Yesterday at work, I caught another 20 minutes of Blades of Glory - I think I've only missed the beginning, and even that I've seen snippets of. Hilarious flick, I must say.
And today, I had some time to spare so I checked out Meet the Robinsons in Disney Digital 3-D. It was impressive, but I was even more impressed by how they took a Donald Duck cartoon from 1953 (I believe) and set THAT in 3-D... and it was fantastic. The movie itself, it was a good movie. But like Chicken Little before it, it lacks that certain something that Disney once had. But they are definitely moving in the right direction, and it did have its moments. B+

BODY HEAT (1981) Hadn't seen this one in a while. Well written and directed by Lawrence Kasdan who made a really good tribute to the film-noir genre. After 5 or 6 viewings, this no longer has the "oomph!" it once did, but it's still entertaining nonetheless. If you've seen stuff like "DOUBLE INDEMNITY" or "THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE", then you know the basic set-up: Boy meets girl, girl is married, but hot-to-trot, boy and girl have an affair, girl convinces boy to help her kill her husband, things end up badly. In this case, the boy is William Hurt and the girl is a sultry Kathleen Turner in her break-out starring role. Back in '81, I probably would've killed someone to hook up with Kathleen Turner too. Of course, I was about 15 and essentially a walking hormone. Seeing as how she hasn't aged so well I'm glad I never went that route. Sorry Kathleen, it never would've worked out between us. 7.5/10

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) (Blu-Ray) HD Video - 10/10 HD Audio Dolby Digital - 8/10 HD Audio LPCM - 9/10 Couldn't find anything wrong with the PQ. The LPCM track is a step up on the DD track but not by much as there are only a few scenes in this dialog driven flick to give the surrounds any workout. The film may have had that processed look some reviewers shrug at, but imo I think more of it is intentional now with newer films because of new HD equipment & directorial choice. Anyways, this film is a real winner for Will Smith & his son.

The Lookout
Joseph Gordon-Levitt continues to build an impressive resume with an intense, original thriller with two great performances: one by Levitt, the other by Jeff Daniels (who really rocks the blind man gig). Great movie. 9/10

Tomcats-Already seen this one several times and it still is pretty funny. Not exactly anything new, but still worthy of a couple chuckles.
