Wow, that's pretty big. Glad to see you're okay through it all.

I haven't been on here in about a month because a tornado hit the town that I live in and it's taken this long to get all the phone and internet lines back up and running again. But anyway...it was a very scary experience and I NEVER want to go through something like that again. But at least we're still alive and well and have homes to live in! And unfortunately tornados are just a part of living in Arkansas... Glad to see you're okay at least! Acts of God have the nastiest disposition these days!

Yeah, this has been a record year for tornados so far, I guess he's trying to tell us something.

Oh, my wife and I are finally moving out of our shitty apartment building to a much, much nicer one in Bloomington (south of Minneapolis) which will be much closer to pretty much everything in the Cities. Our building, as you may recall, had major fires last August and February--in adjacent parts of the building! On top of which, it's the only place I've ever lived with cockroaches and there are mice as well.
Our new place costs a hundred bucks more a month, but we improve up to 1400 square feet of living space complete with a den--and the den has a window! The kitchen is bigger, the living room is sunken (a whole one step), and unlike our place now, we won't be wasting about 60 square feet of living space with a long hallway. Even better, the kitchen is larger, the deck is bigger, and the dining room is totally seperate from the living room. Every single room has windows, which is nice for a change.
Plus, we'll be Mall of America and Lightrail adjacent, so my wife will have a much, much easier time getting work which is hampered by us only having one vehicle.

Alright, after a hot, generally miserable week in Camp Ripley doing Army training, I got to come home and move into a new apartment. We've upgraded at long last to a place that's much cleaner and much, much bigger. We went from roughly 1050 square feet of living space in a two-bedroom apartment to a 1400 square feet of living space with two bedrooms, a den, a giant living room, and a dining room that's actually sectioned off from the back of the living room where it used to be in our old place. Every single room has windows and there are four ceiling fans. The deck is also much bigger. But moving is a massive pain in the ass.
In the process, I got horribly sunburned on my left shoulder, the cat clawed me good because she was freaking out, and the computer desk broke and was largely trashed. The middle section of the entertainment center was also gutted and tossed out. Three plants didn't make the transition along with us, and two other pots were tossed out--which still had lots of dirt in them. My small table on the deck surprisingly had an ant colony living in it and was also thrown out.
But, we're in and the cable is hooked up and the surround sound is reassembled aside from the damn subwoofer which seems to have decided that it no longer wants to emit smooth bass lows. Lame! There are still many, many, many boxes to unpack. Two CD racks were donated and the old DVD rack is being converted for the CD collection while we will need to actually get a new, larger shelf for all our DVD's.
This crap is tiring, I tell yah whut.
