So I've been playing the Wii and it is so incredibly awesome. I haven't had that much fun with a video game, a sports game no less, in ages. Then I played Guitar Hero II which is rather disappointing. The first one had a much better collection of songs that were just that much more fun to play. This one, while a blast, lacks the, I don't know, heart of the original, which was quickly made and snazzy whereas this one has money behind it and . . . almost overkill. But there are a few shine-out numbers and being able to play bass on a couple co-op songs is great. I got four phrases for you about Guitar Hero II: Shout at the Devil Strutter Killing in the Name Beast and the Harlot Damn, I could rock out to those tunes all day long.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age for the Game Boy Advance.
I'm finally on my way to finishing it. Was stuck for a really long time, then lost interest, then got it back, then got stuck some more, then finally figured out what I was missing, and finally--finally, I'm on my way.

Played Guitar Hero II in full and it is really REALLY disappointing. I mean, it starts off, with the first three or four blocks with really really awesome and fun songs, but the last blocks tend to have only one or two good songs each and the very last one is just annoying and stupid. And it has Free Bird. Fuck Free Bird. I hate that song.
Even the songs I didn't like on Guitar Hero I were a lot of fun to play, like the one by Pantera but these just get tedious and I think the game is missing a lot of the heart that went into the first one. It doesn't seem to be about the love of playing air guitar to bad rock covers anymore, it's something less.
And all the extra songs suck too. Well, maybe one or two is good but if you wanna play Guitar Hero, stick with the first one.
Psychobilly Freakout is amazing fun, though.

Max Payne on the Game Boy Advance
and
Killer7 on the GameCube.
Plenty of rampant violence and adult themes for everyone!

Right now we've been playing Worm 3D on the Gamecube (well, on our Wii which is backwards compatible). A lot of fun and a great party game!

Hopefully Guitar Hero II for the 360 tomorrow.
Never played this game before. I watched a few clips from You-Tube & some of the notes are surprisingly accurate to playing a real guitar. I think this game will be harder to play than a real guitar though. lol
The 360 guitar was supposed to be wireless. I saw a game show from You-Tube also that demonstrated it. Doesn't look like its wireless. Ahh well.

You have to buy the wireless I think.

We added Mario Kart: Double Dash!! to my "now playing" list of Killer7 and Max Payne. My wife and I cleared Mario Kart: DD in it's entirety within 4 days.

Indeed it is. I did get it the first day & there were already 80,000 people who owned it that day + a few who already had 15 million for career scores. DAMN. I don't mind that it isn't wireless. Right now my score is around 3.5 million & overall, 6 million compared to the #1 leader who has around 22 million. Thats crazy. I have passed "easy", "medium" & am half way through "hard" now. I've been playing a real guitar for 15 years & I can tell, it doesn't help. Kinda bumed there is no Metallica, but Sweet Child 'O Mine & Hanger 18 are there so all is good. Also dig "Free as a Bird" The hammer-on's & pull-off's are not easy, & I believe ya have to master them if ya want to get perfect on the solos on hard & expert. My only complaint is after playing the game for 45+ minutes, my vision gets screwed up because of the 3D ness to the game. I hope MS offers more songs via download soon. Highly recommended & very addictive game.

Glad you're enjoying it Term. I'm through the medium too now and working my way through the hard. The thing is I actually have to practice which I feel silly doing. I haven't practiced an instrument since elementary school! And my eyes go wonky too. I have to take breaks or else everything starts to blur together. And so far, no perfect on hard for me.

Holy Monkey Nuts! That's insane! I don't play video games, but my nephew and brother & sis-in-law have Guitar Hero 2 and I've watched them play. I wouldn't even attempt it... On a totally unrelated note...I bought my nephew the Res. Dogs game for his b-day so I was watching him play while I was up there. It's pretty neat. Has scenes that aren't in the movie, stuff that happens off-camera that was just hinted at in the movie. Michael Madsen is the only actor who lent his image and voice to it, but the other voice characterizations aren't too far off the mark. I might have to buy the PC version when I get some extra money.
