Cuckoo Taxi and Deliverance That's it. I'm sorry. Well, I already knew you hadn't seen The Godfather I & II & Apocalypse Now. Just for those three you should forever be locked up in Movie Prison with no chance of parole, but Rocky?? I always thought ROCKY was like JAWS & STAR WARS. Everybody has seen them. Well... almost... everybody...

I've seen all but Papillon... See it! You won't be disappointed. I'd like to see Dog Day Afternoon. You know I buy blind, never rent or watch tv networks. AWESOME LIST! Shame on me for not seeing the others! Especially Deliverance - have always wanted to see it. Thanks! Told ya the 70's rocked movie-wise. DELIVERANCE is a great movie, but I would recommend to you and Term, DOG DAY AFTERNOON even more. I think it's one of Pacino's best performances. And, shockingly, it's a true story to boot. Of course, I recommend all ten films on the list.

A great list it is! I haven't seen Papillon (or just don't remember seeing it) and Deliverance. Here are the others in the quality order - according to my very own taste, of course:
1. APOCALYPSE NOW 2. TAXI DRIVER 3. DOG DAY AFTERNOON 4. ROCKY 5. THE GODFATHER II 6. ENTER THE DRAGON 7. ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST 8. THE GODFATHER

It's been a while, so time for another list of ten films that I feel are essential for every film fan to see. Last time it was 70's drama, but with the passing of Richard Pryor, I thought it was time to check out some essential 70's comedies.
AMERICAN GRAFFITI (1973) Cool cars, a great soundtrack and an amazing cast of unknowns, most of whom would go on to bigger stardom. All directed by some kid named Lucas. BLAZING SADDLES (1974) Mel Brooks kicks the Old West in the ass. THE LONGEST YARD (1974) Burt Reynolds, the biggest star of the 70's in another one of his major hits. YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (1974) Mel Brooks kicks old monster movies in the ass. Two classics in one year for Mel! MONTY PYTHON & THE HOLY GRAIL (1975) If you haven't seen this one, I'll have to fart in your general direction! And if you have seen it, you'll get that line. THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN (1976) It was the 70's! We have to include at least one of the PINK PANTHER movies! Peter Sellers was a genius. ANNIE HALL (1977) Can't have a list of 70's comedy without including Woody Allen. SILVER STREAK (1976) The first of three movies that teamed-up Gene Wilder with Richard Pryor. ANIMAL HOUSE (1978) Often imitated, but never duplicated. Also, the reason the song, "Shout", is played at every wedding you go to. THE JERK (1979) Steve Martin goes from rags to riches, then to rags again.
So, do the Movie Police have to pay a visit?

All that stuff is Movie Police worthy, huh?
Uh oh.
I guess since I haven't seen most of them, I must have a brain from someone named "Abby Normal."

Annie Hall is great - and not a bloated high-brow film but simply lots of fun.
I haven't seen Silver Streak and The Longest Yard; the rest of the films are all good stuff - especially Blazing Saddles (I always preferred it to Young Frankenstein) and Monty Python And The Holy Grail.
The police shall not take me this time.
