[glow=green,2,300]I do agree with Bart but it was him who fell asleep, I was just extremely bored and frustrated waiting for that something which made it such a great masterpiece. Additionally the quality of the copy wasn't high especially sound was shite. [/glow] Hmm... has it really been seen if your eyes were closed? Isn't that a bit like "listening" to music with earplugs in? CITIZEN KANE is a good movie, but it's not exactly "action-packed". Maybe you started watching it too late in the evening? [glow=green,2,300]It was even later than you think but that factor wasn't important. If the flick is good I can view it even in the morning withoput sleep at night.[/glow] We started watching it after too many beers, I think... [glow=green,2,300]Not my case ;D[/glow] However: we saw enough of it to get the picture, please believe me.[glow=red,2,300]That's right[/glow] This just isn't a type of film I could start to love. I would never say "This is shite!" as I know it helped to shape cinematography and all, but it's just not my cup. To put it bluntly: "Citizen Kane" ain't no "Zombie Flesh Eaters". ;D

Patience, Grasshopper. There will definitely be more, but I don't really just want to rush through these and post ten more titles every week or so. Besides, aren't there several titles that have been listed already that you and a couple of others haven't even seen yet?

Okay, for the next list of essentials, I'm going for the Box Office Gold. This is it, when adjusting the actual grosses for inflation, these are the kings of the Box Office.
1. Gone with the Wind (1939) What, again?? 2. Star Wars (1977) So, stop me if you've heard this one before. A farmboy, a wizard and two droids walk into a bar... 3. The Sound of Music (1965) Number 3?? The hills are alive with the sound of money! 4. ET (1982) Same old story: boy meets alien, alien gets drunk, bicycles fly. 5. The Ten Commandments (1956) When, "A Cast of Thousands" really meant something. 6. Titanic (1997) Okay, nobody give away the ending. 7. Jaws (1975) The summer popcorn film that all others will be judged by. 8. Dr Zhivago (1965) A David Lean classic, but doesn't compare to Lawrence of Arabia or Bridge on the river Kwai, imho. 9. The Exorcist (1973) Head spinning, vomitting, profanity. I think I used to date her. 10. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) The one that put Disney on the map.
How many have you seen?

I've seen 7 of 'em.
And sorry everyone, but Titanic was a movie I flatly refused to see--and I continue to stand by those convictions!!
Also no: Doc Z, and $ound of Muzak.

And sorry everyone, but Titanic was a movie I flatly refused to see--and I continue to stand by those convictions!! It's always interesting to me when someone flat out refuses to see a movie they've never seen. Yeah, the Celine Dion song is ass, and I'm as sick of it as everyone else, but the movie itself is actually quite good, imho. But I'm sure you have your reasons.

I've actually seen all those. Damn you TCM. So, you're upset because you've actually seen them all or because now you have nothing to look forward to from this particular list?

The latter it would seem. Or maybe that I've just sent countless hours in front of that channel. I love it a lot and my dorm doesn't get it, so that sucks.

I've actually seen all those. Damn you TCM. I've seen them all too, just not on TCM. More like at my Grandmother's house growing up. She had all of those on her TV set at one time or another. Especially Ten Commandments.

Just eight. No Zhivago, no Sound Of Music - these two never tempted me, to be honest.
Titanic, on the other hand, IS a good movie. Please note the use of "good" instead of "great", though.
