The Omen (2006) "Remake" is an understatement. This is THE SAME EXACT MOVIE. With an inferior cast. And an inferior director. Also, the special effects were better 30 years ago (the classic impaling scene has been marred by CGI). Seriously, why was this movie even made? I would much rather have seen the '76 version on the big screen. I mean, if they REALLY wanted to capitalize on the 06/06/06 freakshow. 3/10 The Omen- I actually liked this one. It gave me a few scares. The impaling was ruined, but the beheading was improved on, I'd say. Yes, the acting was a lot worse. Liv Schreiber and Mia Farrow didn't change expressions the whole movie. Pete Postlethwait and Michael Gambon went around raving things. The kid was a joke. And I think Julia Stiles was extremely mediocre. And I like the shaky cam effect. But John Moore shouldn't have done this film.

I mean, if they REALLY wanted to capitalize on the 06/06/06 freakshow. That's the impression I got from the trailers. "Oh look, it's the nanny hanging herself at the Birthday party." "Oh look, there's the mom getting knocked over by Damien on his tricycle.", etc. Because I haven't seen it, I'm not sure what, if anything, has been added that is all new story-wise, but judging it by the trailers, it pretty much looked like a scene by scene remake. If you're going to remake a great movie like that, at least do something different to justify a remake. (Better decapitation effects are not going to make me run out to the theater.) I just watched the original this past October, so I'm in no hurry to see this. I can wait until it hits cable or dvd. Just watched: THE CHAPLIN MUTUALS: Vol. 3 The third and final collection of 4 out of 12 shorts that Charlie Chaplin made in 1916-1917 for the Mutual Film Company. This volume includes: 1. ONE A.M. 2. THE PAWN SHOP 3. THE FLOORWALKER 4. THE RINK

SUPERMAN II (1980)
Hasn't aged as well as the original. (Some of the effects are pretty cheesey considering it was released in '80 and a few of the superpowers are more bizarre than the "flying around the world and reversing time" from the original.) But still, it's a lot of fun and Terence Stamp is a great villain as General Zod.
8/10

My Cousin Vinny- An extremely funny courtroom comedy.
City Lights- Good, but dissapointing.

Fun with Dick and Jane--entertaining funniness. Jim Carrey. B-.
Millions--Danny Boyle does a family film. No one saw that coming. Brilliant. A-.
The Baxter--Imagine Woody Allen done by STELLA, thr group who has a TV show on Comedy Central which is downright hilarious, which I found most of this movie to be. B+.

Cars
Wow... I don't know how to describe this. I DID love this movie quite a bit, but as a follow-up to the Incredibles? Nah, I'll take the Incredibles over this any day of the week. Still, this was a fun movie to watch and is probably the frontrunner for the Best Animated Feature Film Oscar.
Expect greatness, sure. It's Pixar, you'd be cynical to expect anything less. But don't expect it to be as great as their past efforts.
Enough of that. It's smart, funny, and beautifully animated. It's also a glorious tribute to the historical Route 66.

Me and You and Everyone We Know--Not as good as I expected it to be (especially because a friend of mine gushes over it). Still, it has it's moments which are more than there fewer if that even made sense. B.

The Last Temptation of Christ- It was a good film, and it was a unique twist on Jesus's story.

X3 3/4- More action, less story...but I still loved it. Did anyone else stay until after the credits were over?

I think The Last Temptation of Christ is the best Jesus movie ever. Better than all the DeMille stuff and that Passion crap and everything.
Anyways, I just saw A Prarie Home Companion--Funny, sad, and...I don't know...my friend said cute? Quaint? The ending dragged a bit. A-.
