The last one I got was Death: Human.
I think my taste in the band has waned quite a bit over the years. Nothing sounds quite as good as their "Symbolic" album.

I still prefer Leprosy. Only one or two songs on that one I can't really stand. Symbolic is up there in the top for it's awesome title track and 1000 Eyes, but I wouldn't call it their best one. That goes to Leprosy.
Recieved a small package of BM from a friend yesterday: Mayhem-Grand Declaration of War Mayhem-European Legions Enthroned-Regie Sathanas (A Tribute to Cerunnos) Blood Ritual-Black Grimoire

I think I'm partial to Symbolic because it wasn't just my first taste of the band Death, but of Death Metal in particular. At the same time, I also heard Morbid Angel (Covenant) and Fear Factory (Demanufacture), but I listened to Death first. It was my first serious foray into the underground (then Fear Factory got popular).
Up until that point, I had never heard, nor seen, anything like that stuff before.
And hey Slayrrr--how do you feel about Dave resurrecting Megadeth yet again or Glenn Benton rejoining Vital Remains for the next album?
Me so excited!!!

I know what you mean about the listening first. It's why I think Morbid Angel is totally overrated and Hate Eternal is so good, I picked up King of all Kings before getting Gateways to Annihilation, and was blown away by it, then following it up with I, Monarch while MA did Heretic. I don't really get MA that much, while I love Hate Eternal because I listened to them first.
Megadeth-Not that much of a fan. The only one I can say I liked even a little was Killing is my Business. There's only two or three on Peace Sells that I like, So Far... only has two songs, and then the rest of the albums I don't really like at all. I think I just burned my favorites onto a single CD and sold the regular albums.
Vital Remains-Spectacular. Dechristianize was a really great album, and now riding high on their greatest one, The Stench of Redemption, he sounds more pissed off and focused than before. Could be an outside chance at nabbing Greatest Album of the Year from Machine Head if the promise is fulfilled.

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band by Mr. Lennon.
I think with this and "Imagine" is difficult to say that John Lennon didn't have a very succesful post-Beatles career. No, it doesn't match his former band, but it's still great music.

AM by Wilco to complete my Wilco collection (save for their new one). It's the most alt-country they've ever been and it makes you appreciate their later stuff even more!

Paradise Lost's "One Second"? I listened to it some time ago and was pretty disappointed with it. Not a very energetic album.

Continuing the slow but steady process of erasing the good burned CDs with their originals, I got The Flaming Lips' Yoshimi Battle the pink Robots. Outstanding album.,

Paradise Lost's "One Second"? I listened to it some time ago and was pretty disappointed with it. Not a very energetic album. I like it because it's a calm album. I have tons of energetic stuff. I need to mix it up a bit. Besides, I absolutely love the song, "One Second." Today I got: MEGADETH: United Abominations Yay!
