Oh man, yeah, that buried alive scene creeped me out too... It creeped the actress even more - she had to actually lie there in the coffin and trust the axe would not chop her head off! There was lots of shouting between Catriona and Lucio this day, I heard.

Geez...I don't think I'd trust anybody w/ an axe that close to my head. I watched Suspiria last night. REALLY liked this one! My favorite of the Argento/Fulci movies I've watched so far. I also have to say that the sets were gorgeous & the use of lighting & shadows. That just struck me for some reason. I actually liked the music too. It was stuck in my head all night. The movie wasn't as gory as I thought it would be though.

Hey Q, I call "Zombie 2" as my favorite horror movie of all time, but I know that ain't saying much. Glad you finally caught the gloriousness that is "Suspiria," LDG. That is one awamzing movie, and it features the best opening I've ever seen to a horror movie. I don't care what the tagline says, the opening is the scariest part of the movie. After that, it just goes off into a ride that few have matched. One of the all-time best film in existence.

Yeah, the opening was great. I agree, it was creepier than "the last 12 minutes", or whatever it was the trailer said. The suspense building up to the last of the movie was definately creepier. And that woman...the dead witch, can't remember her name, with the creepy breathing..ick. I think I heard it in my dreams last night...

OH, I loved that witch. Definitely creepy and a true Argento creation. Doubt anyone else could've come up with that.

I thought Suspiria was pretty good, but not great or anything. I guess it's due in part to my age and the fact that I only just saw it when I got it for Christmas. I did like the soundtrack, which came with my DVD.

Give it time, Q, you'll see it for the masterpiece that it is.

Agree with slayrrr here. Watch it several more times, Quorth, and you may learn to love it. Happened to me already! When I first saw it I didn't care much, after the second viewing I felt some respect and now, after several more viewings - I do think it's really, really great.
What's next, Livingdeadgirl?

What's next, Livingdeadgirl? I think I have Zombie on there next. Also have The Dead Next Door on there too. I don't think it's on the suggestions list, but slayrrr mentioned it somewhere. It'll be a week or so before I get to those though. I have to share my Netflix selections w/ my brother & sis-in-law for the rest of this week & next week. On the weeks that my brother works the day shift I get movies that we all want to watch (on their widescreen tv ) & we watch them at night. Then on the weeks that he's on the night shift I get movies that I wanna see...or occassionally a "girly" movie that me & my sister in law want to watch.

I put a review up for Dead Next Door, LDG, that's where it comes from. Glad to see you're also getting ZOmbie. Man, I love that movie. Probably my all time favorite horror movie, and also of all-time. I have so much praise for that movie it's impossible for me to contain myself in this post. Enjoy that one.

I put a review up for Dead Next Door, LDG, that's where it comes from. Yeah, that's where I saw it at! I remember now looking it up on Netflix after I read your review. The Beyond is still on "Unknown release date" status on Netflix, which I don't understand. Although the site did say that sometimes they don't get copies of some movies or something like that. But they have just about every other Fulci film so I don't know why they wouldn't have that one.

No problem, LDG, we all have those days. If you really want another Fulci one, Lizard in a Women's Skin and Don't Torture a Duckling are the best of the ones you haven't seen yet. The others are okay, but true Fulci fans are the ones that seem to like his others the best (and even they are split on a couple movies themselves) as you've either seen his best ones or are getting them later.
