NOOOOO,NOT ANOTHER BLOODY REMAKE! I heard recently there could be remakes of the classics Suspiria and Don't Look Now too. This is getting ridiculous.

From Cinema Confidential:
Variety reports that Chesapeake Films has hired George Romero to direct "From a Buick 8".
"From a Buick 8" is based on the Stephen King novel. The story follows the son of a state trooper who is killed on the side of the road. After the murder, the son discovers his father's dark secret in a back shed and must deal with the consequences.
Hmm....Romero doing a King book.... what are the possibilities?
The Hollywood Reporter reports that a third "Resident Evil" movie has been greenlit, with Paul W.S. Anderson expected to pen the screenplay, and Milla Jovovich to return as Alice.
Screen Gems will distribute "Resident Evil: Afterlife," continuing the franchise based on the successful videogame franchise by Capcom. The movie has Alice facing off against a new race of clones called the Undead that threatens human extinction.

I can't force myself to be excited about another Resident Evil film but Buick sounds good to me.

Yeah, me too. It's not one of my fave King stories, but it'll be cool to see what Romero does to it.

When I was interviewing Graham Masterton recently, he told me about some upcoming adaptations of his stories and you can now read all about them on... Fangoria's website! Here, to be exact: fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=5096

Quorth - I'm a teacher. But I use my free time to watch films, read books, listen to music, write reviews and articles for websites and magazines, and interview some interesting guys; like I did in this case here.

What do you teach? Besides "young people?" (ha ha)
Oh, I know, you teach Horror History.

Young people is right, Quorth. But listening and reading comprehension are my subjects, if this is what you really want to know. So you can be sure I force them to listen to lots of metal music and watch tons of Monty Python on my classes.

Way to go, Bart. Get them warped early enough, the rest of the world won't seem like Hell when they get there. I can only imagine this scene: The principal walks in for a surprise visit, and sees three people watching The Evil Dead while five more in the back head-banging to Gamma Ray or Helloween, the rest of them are tied up about to be burned at the stake like witches in the old days, and you sitting in the corner reading Fangoria with the Beyond Re-Animator cover and surfing the internet.
I want to go to that school.

Sounds like a couple of my teachers at one of the colleges I attended.

I haven't seen Bubba Ho-tep...yet...but I definitely plan on renting it! Bruce Campbell is an awesome actor! As far as Scream 4...sheesh. I was VERY disappointed by Scream 3. The "angry secret brother turned psycho" plot has been overdone too many times. It would have been far more interesting if the killer had been one of the others in the group: Dewey, Gail, that cop that liked Sydney...but her brother? Come on! I thought that was pretty weak. Scream 4 would be pounding an already dead horse into the ground even further. Just like Hollywood's done with other horror franchises: Halloween, Children of the Corn, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Alien. YAWN!

"Bubba Ho-Tep" is an original, hilarious ride. Esential cinema, in my opinion.

Speaking of Mr. Bart the teacher...
Bart in DEATH SCHOOL ("Try and learn how to survive!") Frankenjohn as the GOOD STUDENT, IAmTheSmitty as the ANGRY STUDENT, Pulpmariachi as the HAPPY STUDENT, Slayrrr666 as the EVIL STUDENT, special appearances by Michael Slade as THE PRINCIPAL, Spacer as the SCIENCE TEACHER, Quorthon as the ART TEACHER, Livingdeadgirl as THE LIBRARIAN, and Heineken Skywalker as JIM THE JANITOR.
Rated R for strong graphic violence/gore, language, spitballs, metal, hard math questions, slipping on wet floors, Howard Stern, a gorilla with a craving for McDonalds, brief shower scenes, and maybe a diesel truck with an appetite for pancakes.
