Don Coscarelli says BUBBA HO-TEP sequel definitely in the works!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the good word on Don Coscarelli and Bruce Campbell's follow-up to the awesome indie spectacular BUBBA HO-TEP. Will we see Ossie Davis' JFK return as a member of the undead? How about a presidential memo from heaven? Maybe that's how Elvis survives BUBBA HO-TEP... a heavenly presidential pardon! No matter what, I bet we're in for awesome Bruce Campbell-isms and elderly action! Usually I'm on top of BUBBA news, but those sneaky monkeys over at mymovies.net got the scoop on this one! Read below for Coscarelli's exact words!
Hey Harry,
Long time visitor, etc... just found this on mymovies.net, exclusive interview with Don Coscarelli. Hope they get busy writing the script soon!!
"Bubba Ho–Tep" (now showing at select cinemas across the UK) is without a doubt one of the year‘s most enjoyable movies and, according to our exclusive chat with director Don Coscarelli, fans of this tale of an aged Elvis battling an Egyptian mummy can expect to see the King of Rock n Roll taking on some more supernatural foes in a follow–up.
We asked him outright if he and leading man Bruce Campbell are set to bring the rumoured "Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She Vampires" to the silver screen anytime soon; "My sources say yes. Things are looking quite good. MGM was very happy with the results in the States, the UK‘s looking very solid, there‘s a lot of fan interest in it – and Bruce would love to play some more of the old hound dog! So there‘s a good chance we actually will make that film." However don‘t expect filming to kick off any time soon as Coscarelli has yet to come up with anything other than the title, "There is no story (yet) so we‘re gonna try and cook up something good hard to say (when), but as soon as we can."
That put a big ol' smile on MY face! ;D

From Dark Horizons:
Scream 4?
Cinescape reports that a scooper contacted them us yesterday explaining that Miramax and its specialty offshoot Dimension Films are developing a number of ideas for possible fruition, some of which are original works while others could be sequels to past Miramax/Dimension films.
"As you probably already know, they're doing a lot of 'em. Lots direct to DVD. And it looks like there is more on the way. There's talk of a new SCREAM movie, heralded by producer Cath Konrad, that's supposed to get into gear next year sometime. What upset me was hearing that it wouldn't be a Kevin Williamson - Wes Craven film. It'll be penned and no doubt directed by some other unnamed hack. OK, so as far as [X] knows, it'll have the original cast in it - but who cares if it isn't Craven?! I think they've been thinking about doing another one for a couple of years and have seen a good bunch of treatments".
