I'm still watching but I find myself getting less entertained. I enjoyed the first episode back with Juliet, and the Desmond episode was OK (although a bit illogical) but this past episode with Bai Ling was pure season filler. Do I really need to keep seeing story flashbacks? NO.

'Lost' Creators: "End in Sight"
Hit castaway show Lost will end after three more seasons, executive producers have confirmed. In January, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse revealed they envisioned the endpoint for Lost around episode 100. However, a new agreement with ABC will bring the total number of episodes to 120. Despite the increase, both Lindelof and Cuse admit setting a three season deadline is "incredibly liberating." Lindelof says, "(It's) like we've been running a marathon and we actually know where the finish line is for the first time." Cuse adds, "(We've had) a road map for the series with all the major mythological milestones and the ending in place for a while. What we didn't know was how long we had to play the story out. By defining the endpoint we can now really map out the rest of the series in confidence. We sort of view Lost as a mosaic. Now there are only 48 more tiles that go into that mosaic, and we're figuring out, along with all the other writers, exactly where they all go." Lindelof wrote the pilot for Lost with fellow executive producer J.J. Abrams, and Cuse joined the series in October 2004.

Is an ending in site a good thing? I worry that they will drag their feet around certain storylines only to quickly tie everything up in the last 2 episodes. Hope that doesn't happen - they should be able to plan better with an end in site.
What do you think Heineken?

Frankly I'm a little surprised it's going to be on another three seasons seeing as how, from everything I've heard and read, it hasn't done very well in the ratings since they moved it to 10pm. Not complaining mind you, I still love the show, just a little surprised is all. It seems that nowadays, networks aren't willing to give a series a chance once it starts slipping. JJ Abrams and company have always maintained that they've known exactly how the series was going to end, so I don't think we need to worry about a rushed ending. If anything, they've been given an additional 20 episodes to play with than they feel they needed. So my guess is, they can expand upon that ending or give us a few more backstory/flashback episodes, or a little of both. Either way, I'm pleased to hear that the show's not going to be unceremoniously dumped. In which case they really would have to rush to tie up all the loose ends and give us a somewhat satisfactory conclusion.

Well if they keep adding more mysteries they can definitely drag it out three more years (example: Jacob the ghost). I am glad it wasn't dumped like you said though - I just hope they keep it fresh and organized. Not too worried though...

What's this? Is Phoenix saying something NICE about the show? Anyway, one of my buddies sent me this on Myspace, just thought I'd share it. Lost - as told by They Might Be Giants www.youtube.com/v/MPUyuwWLcOk

Very funny link.

I liked the last couple of episodes, too, and I think I've been the most annoying party-pooper about Season 3 so far. I'm just very glad that:
A - the plot returned to the beach, B - Locke got his mojo back.
The forthcoming 3 seasons are going to be only 16-episodes each, though, is that right? So that's more like 2 normal seasons, actually.

Aaaaand? How did you all like the ending?
I saw it several days ago and thought that it was quite tense, mostly logical, with several nice surprises - and a bit heartbreaking, too. The only thing I didn't like in it was the sudden stupidity of Ben...
SPOILER!
...I mean: why would he order all three Beach Boys when Jack refused to agree to meet his terms? Why not say "I'll kill one of these guys" and still be able to blackmail him with the lives of the other two? It wouldn't bother me if it wasn't for the fact that Ben usually acted rather cleverly...

I enjoyed it overall and the beach scenes were fantastic.
It had some answers although it felt overly long. I could have done without some of the flash backs. We get it: Jack is a big sad loser and an oxycontin & alcohol addict! They really hammered that in (and took away from the current beach plot, just to make the show two hours).
Edit: As for Ben I think he's unraveling a bit Bart....

Ah, but they weren't really flashbacks, were they? More like "flashforwards". That ending where we found out that they weren't actually flashbacks was a total mindfuck! I loved it! And I agree with Phoenix on Ben. Everything seems to be going wrong for him lately, he's bound to not be thinking as cleverly as he once did. I thought the episode was an A+.

I loved it, too - that was perhaps Lost's most surprising moment so far! I can't imagine, however, how in the next series they are going to make us forget that we already know the future...

The episode was excellent, and I enjoyed the mindfuck but honestly, I'm hoping that this isn't the shark-jumping of the series.
