BART! You haven't seen Freaks either?!? You have to see it!!!!! I insist! Alright, I'll do my best. But it's one of those films that to this day haven't been officially released in Poland. I could get it in the divx format, but I'm just not a fan of watching movies on the computer.

I'm just not a fan of watching movies on the computer. I totally understand that one - neither am I. Just add it to your list for future reference.

My priorities on the Unwatched Cult Movies list are:
Freaks Eraserhead Heathers Valley of the Dolls Donnie Darko
Hope to be seeing these in near future.
And what about The Princess Bride, guys? Do you think it really is as good as some reviews are saying? The plot doesn't seem all that interesting to me, frankly speaking.

Do they mean BEYOND The Valley of the Dolls? That's the one I started a different thread about. I just don't want you to be confused about which movie I was talking about. They are two different movies. Valley of the Dolls and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
PRINCESS BRIDE is a great movie, Bart. Don't let what you've heard of the plot fool you. This movie has a pretty wicked sense of humour. Director Rob Reiner does here to fairy tales what he did to rock documentaries with SPINAL TAP.

Thanks for the vote Heineken on The Princess Bride.. (I'll just say.. he helped me out with some Columbia House decisions) I should receive that title along with 6 others but I am very curious now to see that film after all the positive feedback from Phoenix & LDG. (Thought it might be some chick flick) No offence.

None taken. That's part of the joke of the movie. It starts out with a grandfather reading the book, The Princess Bride, to his grandson and the kid has the same doubts. That it's a girlie book/movie. It's set up that way, but it definitely takes a turn. ;D

I am trying to piece together a feature film. Already did some shooting. One page so far I hoping once I get it done it will be a cult classic. It's called "That Effing Zippy." Here's my outline and synopsis. Synopsis: Zippy is having a bad week, and is on the verge of mental breakdown. Zippy is living a dispirited life and even the environmental surroundings around him seem gloomy. Death is all around him, and it seems it can't be avoided. A downward plight is unavoidable and a certain word is going to break him. Along his side, unseen and unnoticed by Zippy, and hanging around is Grim Reaper Susan. Grim Reaper Susan is sometimes a decision-maker on people who come to her haunt. She saves time for God and the Devil to have some downtime and relax. But Grim Reaper Susan is coming to part in her life where its oblation time, and she needs a human to be with and continue the growth of other little Grimmies. This period in her life is discovered out as a male reporter whose spirit has dropped in her haunt asks for a personal interview. There’s love in the air and there is death, either way it’s going to good and bad. GRIM REAPER SUSAN “I’m in my oblation period and I need some loving”<br> --------------------------------------------------------------- The treatment is based on a short film I wrote and produced a few years ago. The concept came about when I attended the Local Heroes Film Festival in Winnipeg, 2000. I happen to watch a feature film about a bunch of young teenagers at an empty fair ground. The movie had so much swearing in that it turned me off. This is how my idea came about for the script and short film called, “ That Effing Zippy.” I now want to revamp this script and short film into a longer version. I want to add more characters, and create more depth and understanding of Zippy. But also in the script will be a thorough character story about the Grim Reaper since the Grim Reaper has a major role in the script and the development of Zippy and herself. The script will be written into four acts. The third act has already been written in a previous time showing that Zippy went out of control when he heard the Eff word. One will not actually use any swear words in the script but will use mimicked words that that were created to resemble swear words or replace them without having to much vulgarity, and not being so offensive. PART I. The script will begin with a story of Zippy traveling to an Indian Reservation or Colony to meet up with an old friend he hasn’t seen in many years. If a title were to mentioned for Part I it wouldn’t definitely be called, “ Should’ve, Would’ve, Could’ve.” This is a title that has been lingering in my mind for many years and I want to see if I can take those words and create the first part of the script. What I will be looking at is the life of Zippy’s depressed and downhearted friend. The friend has lost his ability to pursue any new or old goals in his life. The friend wants to meet old friends to find some kind of temporary self-gratification. Possibly Zippy can influence this friend and change his views on life. Part I of the script will definitely be the most dramatic of the script, and it will lead into the “introduction of the Grim Reaper.” The disposition of the Grim Reaper will have to be predetermined a person will have to determine whether the part of the Grim Reaper will be comedic, dark, or possibly a combination of both. How will Part I end? All a person knows that Zippy will be a survivor, and who knows what will happen to his friend. It will depend if Zippy’s friend wants to stay or leave the Reservation or Colony. PART II. The script will shine a black light on the character of the Grim Reaper. Is the character fictional or real? Definitely for one thing, the Grim Reaper is a woman developed in my eyes. What I want to do for the character of the Grim Reaper is give it or her some human emotions. What we consider shocking might be enjoyment for the Grim Reaper. I think the Grim Reaper needs a heart like everyone else not saying that it will look like a normal heart. Even though we consider the Grim Reaper to be an uncanny character, I want to show that the Grim Reaper has a sense of humor. The Grim Reaper will have major role in determining whether people go to heaven or hell. But firstly the people have to die or almost be dead to see her. Somehow the story of the Grim Reaper must be heard and a new character must be introduced so a person can get the good and bad story of the Grim Reaper. Is there more than one Grim Reaper or are there more, and how do they exist? A reporter enters the realm of the Grim Reaper and gets the story on her or them. Possibly a relationship might be in the future for Zippy and the Grim Reaper. PART III. The short film, “That Effing Zippy.” has already been written and produced. What was once a ten-page script will become Part III of the script. This is part where Zippy goes ballistic with a gun, killing people who swear at him. Zippy doesn’t like that Eff word t’s overused and over abused. He kills a couple of Punks, a mob boss, and a twin prostitutes. It’s not Good for Zippy, but happy days for Grim Reaper Susan. High expectations are coming the Grim Reapers way. Part III will be lengthened to add more development of all of the characters, that will be shot, and to give some insight into who and why they are. This is where the whole conception of writing a feature film has been conceived. The challenge is to write a script from seventy-five to ninety pages long with what I have perceived as Part I and II and combine it with Part III. A person knows that Zippy doesn’t like the Eff word and that his breaking point, it might be stupid and obscure, but it’s all it takes to make Zippy break. PART IV. Zippy broke his own code of conduct, and has ended up in the abode of the Grim Reaper. As good or bad as Zippy is the Grim Reaper has taken a liking him. Is there a possible love in the air for the Grim Reaper? Does the Grim Reaper have an oblation period in her life to create or bare other little Grimmies? This will have to be definded and the Grim Reaper will have to determine whether Zippy goes to heaven or hell, or should I say ELL and not HELL. DENOUEMENT. Part I, II, III, and IV will have a relationship that moves one story to another but will be relevant to the main characters of Zippy and the Grim Reaper. The four parts will be attempted to become a three-act story, a beginning, middle, and an end, but not predetermining where the middle might show up in the script. The attempt firstly is to get to page 75, secondly is to see if the script can be expanded in length, and lastly is to have a script that is complete, and viable enough to be made into a feature film. I am on page 80 and just need to finish up the marriage between Zippy and Grim Reaper Susan. That should be around another 5 or 6 pages, or maybe 10. ---------------------------------------------------------------- thanks for reading this marcel
