QT DEFINATELY DIRECTING CSI...
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Call it "Kill Gil."
Quentin Tarantino has signed to direct the season-finale episode of primetime's most-watched series, CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Tarantino also has come up with an original story for the episode, which is expected to shoot in early April and air May 19, according to "CSI" executive producer Carol Mendelsohn.
Tarantino has long been a fan of the stylish forensic drama as series creator/executive producer Anthony Zuiker learned when he bumped into Tarantino at an awards show during "CSI's" first season. They have pursued him to direct an episode for some time, and after members of the "CSI" crew ran into Tarantino a few weeks ago while the show was doing some location shooting in Las Vegas, the stars finally aligned for him to helm the show's fifth-season closer, Mendelsohn said.
"He knows everything there is to know about 'CSI,' and he is into the whole mythology of 'CSI,"' Mendelsohn said. "Quentin came in a couple of weeks ago. We had a story meeting with the writers. He had a great idea, and it was so much fun to have him in the room. . . . We are positively giddy."
Zuiker, in particular, "worships Quentin," she added.
Mendelsohn said the story will involve a plot that finds one of the key members of the CSI team, led by Gil Grissom (William Petersen), in serious jeopardy.
"There will be more bugs and blood this time," Mendelsohn joked.
Tarantino, who earned an Oscar for co-writing the screenplay to his 1994 smash "Pulp Fiction," directed a 1995 episode of "ER" and appeared as a guest actor on ABC's "Alias" in 2002 and last year. His other features include the "Kill Bill" films, "Jackie Brown" and "Reservoir Dogs."

I don't watch ER, so I never saw the episode that Quentin directed. For those of you who did see it, how good was it? Was it really different from your typical episode and could you really see Tarantino's stamp on it? Just wondering, because I don't watch CSI either and am contemplating watching the episode Tarantino directs.

I saw the episode ( I used to watch ER regularly) and it was much more fast-paced & graphic, you could tell that QT had a hand in it. I watch CSI religiously and they are pretty graphic as it is, so it will be interesting to see how much further Tarantino will go, or be allowed to go, in his episode.

The thing about the ER episode, if I remember it correctly, was that it was taped LIVE so it was kind of shakey and had a really weird feel to it - it didn't have the polish of a finished episode. I am def going to watch the CSI episode though.

You're right, it was taped live...almost kinda had the feel of one of those reality shows like "Trauma:Life in the ER".

Difficult to say my favourite of his movies, I like them all without actually LOVING any of them, if that makes sense. I suppose for enjoyment I would go for Killl Bill Part One, didn't like Part Two as much. In terms of artistry and importance than Pulp Fiction beats the others I would say.

QT RESURRECTING JASON? Frim YahooNews: LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Quentin Tarantino is considering writing and directing a new installment in the long-running "Friday the 13th" horror film series.
Tarantino is in early talks with New Line Cinema, where he is scheduled to meet with executives this week.
The original "Friday," released in 1980 and featuring the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees, spawned a series of sequels, including the 2003 hit "Freddy vs. Jason," in which Jason squared off against Freddy Krueger from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series.
New Line tried to make a sequel to "Freddy vs. Jason" involving the "Evil Dead" character Ash, but it couldn't reach a deal with "Dead" rights holder Sam Raimi.
According to those familiar with the discussions, Tarantino is intrigued with the idea of playing with one of the movie's classic horror villains. If the project does develop, it could be the first film Tarantino directs outside Miramax Films.
The filmmaker, whose credits include "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction," recently signed on to direct the season finale of CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."And from Dark Horizons: The last 12 hours have been crazy. It kicked off with IGN FilmForce reporting that Quentin Tarantino is in final negotiations to write and direct an all new "Friday The 13th" movie for New Line Cinema. Over the weekend there was talk of a new Jason Voorhees film which would be significant for some reason, now it seems we know why.
This won't involve Freddy in any way like 2003's "Freddy vs Jason", rather New Line plans to pitch this as "The Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie". The project will be a co-venture between New Line and Paramount Pictures.
It is expected to be a "quickie" that could get underway as early as this year. A William Morris Agency rep advised the site that Tarantino has "not yet" been offered the job while refusing to elaborate any further.
A few hours later though they confirmed to the trades that he has agreed to an intitial meeting this week with New Line execs about the project (hardly anyting like final negotiations). If the film does develop, it will be the first non-Miramax project for QT.IF this is true...doesn't he have enough on his supposed plate w/out throwing this into the mix? And even though it's QT, I don't have high hopes if it's going to be a quickie production.

Jason as done by Tarantino? Isn't this guy way too talented to be wasting his time with a FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel? I appreciate the fact that he loves all kinds of movie, but this isn't neccesary in the least. Why the hell doesn't he work on his war movie instead?

I think it's because he has adult ADD.
By the way, his "guest director" slot on Sin City is making me want to see it even more (though I was always pulled in by the Rodriguez credit).

Why the hell doesn't he work on his war movie instead? Exactly. Esp. since he's been teasing everyone w/ it for ages... That along w/ the never-ending Vega Bros. rumors.

It's great to hear that he's hopefully going to finally start working on IB. On a side-note, he won the Icon of the Decade award at the Empire Awards Sunday... so congrats to him. And Mr. Madsen presented him w/ the award. ;D

On a related note, he won't be doing that Jason movie. I read on IMDb that he said it was a lie. So whoo-hoo. Personally, I hate those movies.
