Hot Fuzz
The guys who brought us Shaun of the Dead have done the same thing to the Action genre that Shaun of the Dead did to the Zombie film (and Romantic comedy). I mean, seriously, in an age of Epic Movie and Date Movie, this is one I'm sure EVERYONE will be quite thankful for. 10/10

In the Land of Women
Adam Brody is a pretty good actor, but this movie... I don't know, it really didn't work for me. It had its moments where it was clever and had some kind of social commentary that was somewhat relevant. It's not a complete waste, but it could have been better... and I couldn't shake the feeling that Jonathan Kasdan was trying to make another Garden State. Also, wasn't too impressed with Meg Ryan's performance either. There was one emotional breakdown scene that she really hams up. It's a good movie for a date, but that's about it. 6/10

Re-Animator a cult classic. I actually saw that in a drive-in when it was theatrically released. I don't remember how good or bad it was, but thinking back on it now, it would seem like a perfect drive-in movie.

Believe it or not, one of the few classics of the genre I haven't seen.

I haven't been to the drive in in ages! Very few left. Well then you better see it! Actually, I had it on my Netflix list for a very long time and i never received it because it was always on"very long wait" status. I finally got it into my hands after over a year of being in my Queue.

Adaptation -- Charlie Kaufman's most complex script, but I think one of his weakest as well, and if not for the direction of Spike Jonze, which is very tongue-in-cheek and very much knows what it is, and the performance of Nicolas Cage (who I don't usually like but I keep seeing his movies...) this might not have worked as well. The Susan Orlean bits are really the most boring part. But we're so happy together. B.

I know, it's the one film I'm most ashamed of not having seen, as at least now with the re-release I can finally own it, having discovered it when it was OOP.
