What about Lazenby?
Anyways, maybe they're trying to show Bond in his autumn years?
That would be interesting, that's for sure.
I'm Bond, James Bon...(heart attack).

Well, I saw Craig in Layer Cake. He has the potential to be James Bond, but I just wasn't a big fan of that movie, so that may have skewed my image of him a bit.

He was better than Dalton too. ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE was a good Bond film and George Lazenby gets bashed undeservedly, imho.

I think On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a good Bond film but I don't think Lazenby was a good Bond. For the same reasons as Dalton. He took it much too seriously.
If they're going to end the series, they should call Sean Connery back in again. That's a fan's dream, huh?

Yeah:
Sean Connery as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in:
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE (AND I WILL)
with JUDI DENCH as Tould Toremember and Christopher Walken as Doomsday
special appearance by JOHN CLEESE as R and Richard Attenborough as M.
James Bond has a seizure and dies! See the shocking conclusion!
^That's what the poster would look like.

I thought "Die Another Day" wa the best Bond film for years. I thought so, too. It's my favourite Brosnan Bond film for sure. Then again: I loved On Her Majesty's Secret Service and A View On A Kill and, hell, even Licence To Kill! Voted "Whatever" in the poll: just like Phoenix, I wanted Casino Royale with Brosnan and directed by Tarantino, but I can't have it, can I?

I remember when Tarantino spoke interest in doing that!
Die Another Day was probably my second favorite Brosnon-Bond film (right after GoldenEye, come on, it's a great one), and I like it because it didn't really take itself as seriously as a lot of Bond movies and self-parodied itself numerous times. Maybe I should watch it again before the new one comes out (I have awhile) since when my da bought the DVD he got it in fullscreen and I boycotted it.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service has the best theme since the original Bond theme.

I am actually quite happy with the choice because of the other contenders he does have a certain grittyness to him. So what if he isn't as classically handsome as say Connery or Brosnan, I'm willing to bet stick the tux on him, dye the hair and the girls will be swooning. He isnt ugly, he just isnt phenomanilly handsome. And for anyone who's seen 'Layer Cake' you'll see just how good an actor he can be.
Again, Im not saying he'll be great, but going by whats been said about the direction 'Casino Royale' is said to be taking, he is a very good choice.
So guess we'll wait and see but I myself am pleased.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron is the latest name to be linked with a role in the forthcoming James Bond film "Casino Royale" reports MI6.
UK newspaper The Daily Mirror, whom admittedly have published many a wild rumour before, are exclusively reporting that the South African beauty Theron is rumoured to be up for a Bond girl role opposite new 007 Daniel Craig.
She has apparently been offered a megabucks deal to star alongside Daniel Craig in the film, and is British director Martin Campbell's first choice.

Hmm... a Bond girl who's a bigger star than the actor actually playing Bond? Sounds like they're trying to cover their asses just in case, people go "Daniel who? No thanks."

www.sonypictures.com/movies/casinoroyale/pr/craig_bond.jpgThere is the promo pic of Craig's bond. I still say he's VERY ugly to be playing the world's sexiest spy, I dont care what a great actor he is or what movie he's been in. Charlize turned down the role of bond girl, I've heard Thadie Newton (Crash, Chronicles of Riddick, ER) is in talks now. EDIT: Talking with a guy friend of mine on AIM, he put it very nicely for me: "that guy looks creepy...like he'd date rape you" YIKES. not the impression you should be getting from a promo pic...........

EDIT: Talking with a guy friend of mine on AIM, he put it very nicely for me: "that guy looks creepy...like he'd date rape you" I think your friend has a good point... he looks more like one of the bad guys than Bond. He DOES have pretty eyes though...

Well, this has barely even begun and already there's two causes for concern about this film: he's already been battered performing a pretty tame stunt (getting hit in the face) and now a fan site craignotbond.com has been established to rid Craig of his title, and if that doesn't happen, are urging Bond fans to boycott the new film. Taken from the website: "Eon Productions angered fans around the world when they fired Pierce Brosnan at the height of his popularity as Bond. To add insult to injury, Eon cast a short, blond, odd-looking Daniel Craig in the role of Bond. Craig, described by The New York Times as having a 'pale, flattened face and large, fleshy ears' is a terrible choice for Bond. If Eon Productions and Sony Pictures will not accept they've made a big mistake, then Bond fans promise to boycott Casino Royale!" Such hostile reactions from a film that hasn't even been released yet.
And since I haven't voted, I'm going for the mistake one. I do admit that maybe Brosnan is too old, but if I have to get this guy as Bond, not really a good choice.
