...is Daniel Craig.
What's the consensus on this?

I'll have to go with that I don't know who he is...
Can't be better than Brosnan or Connery...

He's from Layer Cake, Road To Perdition, and Sylvia.
The film he's starring in is a remake of "Casino Royale."

James Bond ugly as a shaved chimp? There goes the franchise then... ;D
But seriously: I've no idea what the dude looks like, haven't seen any of his films. Hope 42nd's description is a bit exaggerated...?

Ouch!
Umm, okay then - this WILL be a hairpin bend for the franchise.

I really don't care who this dude is, but he can't be worse than Dalton. License to Kill is watchable, mainly for the action, but the other one, The Living Daylights, brought shame to the series. They replaced Moore with him? I hope it's better than Die Another Day, that movie sucked something bad. (I don't care who she is, Halle Berry isn't that sexy. Besides, if it was supposed to be a carrer boost to be a Bond girl, where is she now?)

That dude is way too ugly to be Bond. There's not a Brit in the world with enough suave to cover up those looks...

I thought "Die Another Day" wa the best Bond film for years. Oh well.. That's OK, I just didn't like it. After seeing the great Goldeneye and the nearly perfect Tomorrow Never Dies, I guess I have higher expectations from the Bond series. If you're wondering, the main beef was the homages to all the other Bond films in the series. (Look at the trivia section for Die Another Day in IMDb, they have a detailed list) but I noticed a few of them myself. It needed to be more original and have a much more imposing villain. Oh, he can go without sleep for days, wow. Who is Bond supposed to be facing, Donald Trump? Just a few grips.

I was excited for Casino Royale - now I'm not so sure. I thought that maybe I'd just seen a bad pic of Daniel Craig but upon doing a image search on Google - YIKES! Give that guy a hair piece, dye his hair, and have him work out a little!
Perhaps he has that rare raw sexiness on screen that I can't see in pictures (dont remember seeing him in any of the movies listed) but so far: disappointment.

And coming from a woman, you take it a little more seriously than normal. I just don't see that guy performing even half the stunts Brosnan did (Did you hear: he needs a stunt double for scenes when he's driving a stick, because he can't! Sorry for the Brosnan bashing, but if Craig can't even do that, don't even bother casting him. So what about the fact that Sienna Miller hooked up with him: she was engaged to Jude Law, so that says something about Miller.)

I thought "Die Another Day" wa the best Bond film for years. Oh well.. I liked it too and have never understood the bashing of this flick. It had everything I want from a Bond flick. Cool gadgets, great stunts, beautiful women, etc. As for this new guy, whatever. I'm not familiar with his prior work, and he doesn't have the looks in that pic that make me say, "Now that's James Bond!", but apparently the Bond producers see something in him and I'm willing to give him a shot. Dalton was the worst Bond. He just took himself way too seriously in the role. He couldn't pull off the lighter/funnier moments that the role requires.
