Yet, I'm hounded about PITCH BLACK. Go figure.

Heh...yeah, we hound you about it but I don't think it would warrant a visit from the MP either. We've just gotta give you a hard time though.

Well, you know. Right now, the STAR WARS TRILOGY box set is taking priority over all other DVD watching. Movie Police or not. ;D And yes, I've seen MONSTER'S BALL. Good movie, but not yet big enough or "classic" enough to warrant visits from the Movie Police. I've never seen BRIDGET JONES' DIARY. I wouldn't have even considered it, but it seems to have taken on a life of it's own and has a lot of fans, so I should probably make the effort. Especially since the sequel will soon be out. Didn't know it was that successful.

I haven't seen Bridget Jones' Diary either....not usually much into those kinds of movies. I thought it was very good. Usually I'm not into such movies, either (I'm not even a fan of "Notting Hill"), but this one seemed funnier and better acted than 95% of romantic comedies.

Okay, here's one. I'd never seen THE GOONIES until tonight. That's one of those that people are always surprised to hear I'd never seen. The Movie Police were definitely cruising my neighborhood over that one. I was looking forward to it, as it was produced by Spielberg and directed by Richard Donner (SUPERMAN, LETHAL WEAPON, THE OMEN). How'd I like it? Not much, really. It was basically a bunch of kids running around and yelling at each other. Really disappointing. I may have enjoyed it more when I was younger, but I think maybe I watched it twenty years too late. I can see how kids would like it though. Brainy kids outwit bumbling adults, gadgets, pirate treasure, friendly monster, etc.
Speaking of movies directed by Richard Donner, I've also never seen LADYHAWKE which seems to have developed a cult following over the years. So what do you guys think? Should I bother trying to see it?

nice and Speaking of movies directed by Richard Donner, I've also never seen LADYHAWKE which seems to have developed a cult following over the years. So what do you guys think? Should I bother trying to see it? While Goonies is a movie for young boys, LadyHawke is a movie for young girls. My little sisters LOVE that movie. It's enjoyable if you're a fan of romantic fairytales.

Goonies was ok, but just one of those typical 80's movies. And I don't know if you'd get much out of Ladyhawke Heineken. I watched it awhile ago, it was ok, I'm just not much into those romantic movies. Ok, here's one...I've never seen Pearl Harbor. I just..I dunno...there was all the hype...and it just seemed like one of those epic/love story movies...so I just never made it one of my priorities to see.

Well, we've heard from two of the ladies regarding LADYHAWKE. Any of you guys seen it? I've never seen PEARL HARBOR either. If it happens to come on HBO someday, I'll probably check it out, like GOONIES, but I'm not going out of my way to see it. Just not a "must-see", as far as I'm concerned.

Haven't seen Ladyhawke. Liked Goonies quite a lot - but hey, I was a kid myself then! Pearl Harbor is worth next-to-nothing, so don't worry about this one bringing the MP to your house.

Yeah Pearl Harbor is guilty of a lot of bad acting, mainly because of the lame love story attempt by Bruckheimer which I think he put into the script thinking, well it worked for Titanic. Other than that mis-fortune, the F/X are top notch & the battle scenes are really intense. Translation - Eye Candy ;D 1 positive thing about this disc is the Dts track. If you have a decent surround sound system, this disc is definitley reference material.

...the F/X are top notch & the battle scenes are really intense. For me they weren't intense cause I didn't care for the characters involved. Pearl Harbor is a good example of how not to make a war movie - too many love letters read by sunset and too little grittiness there.
