Ok, I decided to do this thread so we could use it for rumors & small stuff we find that may not warrant a whole new thread, just bits of info we come across.
Here's some random stuff I found today:
Whedon directin X-Men 3?
Production Weekly (http://www.productionweekly.com) is reporting that "Buffy" mastermind Joss Whedon may be getting his wish after all.
The online trade says that Whedon has been signed to direct "X-Men 3," which they say will begin shooting in Vancouver next June. Whedon takes over the director's chair from Bryan Singer, who has committed to direct "Superman" at Warner Bros. instead.
"X-Men 3" currently does not have every principal actor signed yet, as there is no completed script.
Stay tuned for any official announcements from the studio.
(It'll be interesting to see what Joss can do outside of the Buffy realm if he gets the flick)
Dukes of Hazzard Casting
The Hollywood Reporter announces that Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott have been cast as Luke and Bo Duke, respectively, in Warner Bros.' "Dukes of Hazzard" movie. The film will be an adaptation of the 1980s TV series. Jessica Simpson and Elisha Cuthbert are current frontrunners for the role of Daisy Duke. Jay Chandrasekhar (Broken Lizard's "Club Dread") will direct the film.
The series ran on CBS from 1979 to 1985 and followed the weekly adventures of southern cousins Bo and Luke. They, along with their cousin Daisy and Uncle Jesse, staged running battles with the corrupt authorities, Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.
(this is one of my favorite shows from childhood so I really hope they don't f*ck it up!)

Production Weekly (http://www.productionweekly.com) is reporting that "Buffy" mastermind Joss Whedon may be getting his wish after all. Why not Singer at the helm this time? Anyone knows? It seems that everyone (except for me, of course) adored his way of handling the X-Men series?

Because like LDG mentioned, Singer has opted to do SUPERMAN instead of a third X-MEN.

Polish director Andrzej Bartkowiak is going to take care of the game-based movie Doom:
CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE helmer Andrzej Bartkowiak has stepped up to helm the Universal Pictures film adaptation of the id Software first-person shooter video game. Bartkowiak, who rose up in the ranks as a director of cinematography before directing such action films as EXIT WOUNDS and ROMERO MUST DIE, replaces Enda McCallion who is departing the director's chair due to unspecified personal reasons.
Dwayne The Rock Johnson is playing Doom's main character, by the way.

I'm waiting for him to get that one good role where he can really show what he can do, & not just get stuck in that 'big action star' rut. I mean, if he can stand in front of thousands of wrestling fans (who are fickle, to say the least) & continually ad-lib & improvise & captivate an audience, then he has it in him to be a good actor. What is a wrestler anyway but an actor w/ a very loose script to work with? He def. has the charisma & presence to do it.

From Dark Horizons:
New Campbell, Lee, Haur Movie? Twitchfilm reports that while looking around for information on "Evil Dead 4", they turned up a listing for a Russian film just entering the early stages of production called "Glubina", with a cast list that apparently includes Bruce Campbell, Rutger Hauer and Christopher Lee.
The apparent English working title is "Depth" and the film is based on a novel from the author of the Russian blockbuster "The Night Watch". 'Night' did better business in Russia than the "Lord of the Rings" films and has generated enough buzz that it, along with a pair of in the works sequels, has been picked up for North America by Fox.
"Glubina" is set in the near future where the Internet technologies, coupled with a "deep-program", produced the internationally shared virtual world - the Deeptown. Of its population, the most mysterious are the Divers, who can at will resist the deep-program and see not only the display picture as it is (where everyone sees an illusion of a very real world) but also programs with all their "holes" as images, and do things which the best hackers could never dream of.
I'm there for anything w/ Bruce! ;D
From Cinema Confidential:
Spaceballs 2? According to Ain't it Cool News (http://www.aintitcool.com), Playbill Magazine spoke with producer Mel Brooks, who surprisingly and out of nowhere revealed that he is writing "Spaceballs 2," the sequel to his wild "Star Wars" parody from 1987.
"I'm writing myself back into the 'Spaceballs' sequel that I'm now writing, so you haven't seen the last of my face," he revealed. "Why another Spaceballs? It wouldn't feel right have anyone else play Yoghurt and the first one was the best experience I've had making a movie since 'Blazing Saddles.'
And when does he plan on releasing the picture? "Best case scenario: A week before the new Star Wars opens. Worst Case Scenario: A year after the new Star Wars opens."
Miami Vice movie rumors...
According to Dark Horizons (http://www.darkhorizons.com), the "Miami Vice" movie is gearing up with Jamie Foxx and Michael Mann to be possibly involved.
The site claims that Foxx is up for one of two lead roles in the film adaptation of the classic TV show from the 1980s. He'd play the role of Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs, a cop from New York transferred to Miami while searching for his brother's killer. The role was made famous by Philip Michael Thomas.
Meanwhile, his fellow director on "Collateral," Michael Mann, is reportedly writing, producing and may also direct the adaptation.
