I personally hated the idea of Eric Bana playing Bond. Don't get me wrong, he's an excellent actor, but he's not right for the part. I'd personally give it to Hugh Jackman.

Another wierd rumour I heard is that the producers might do a prequel type of Bond film which would focus on a younger James Bond, so they very well could cast someone like Orlando Bloom. Bond: The College Years? I dread to as much as think of something like that! No Bond prequels, thank you very much! Oh, and Clive Oven or Heath Ledger (sorry, neptunes ) don't seem to be the best Bond choices. Jackman sounds the most reasonable of all. Bana would come second. But I'd still prefer Brosnan to play JB one last time.

Well, Bana is almost a definite no-no, according to him.
To me my fave Bond is Pierce so I would prefer him to stay.
However I think Hugh Jackman is too big a star to play such a role. Same with my persoanl fave Johnny Depp.
I can see Orlando Bloom gettin it just to piss me off.
I still think Heath Ledger would be a good choice, although Guy Pearce maybe also.
Who knows if they are going for a 'nobody' then Ben Affleck could restart his career lol.
Note; I actually like Ben Affleck, and think he's a good actor.

Pierce Brosnan wasn't exactly a "nobody" when he became Bond... I knew who he was beforehand, and I was 10 by the time Goldeneye came out.
I think Hugh Jackman could do it because he has the look and the personality. Plus, it wouldn't hurt him to do something that soften the blow Van Helsing dealt him.

I didnt say he was a nobody...
But he sure as hell wasnt as big as Hugh Jackman.
Of all the Bonds none were world wide stars. They just werent. Fact.
Some were known yeah and they werent nobodies but thats not the same thing.
And Yeah I knew who Brosnan was too, even though I was a pup, because I had seen Mrs Doubtfire... Jk...
If Hugh Jackman does it, I think itll be a mistakemaybe not for the franchise as he is charasmatic actor, but for him...

More Bond rumors... From Movie Hole: "Last month it was Eric Bana (though we actually mentioned his name in relation to the role back in April) now another Aussie is apparently being fitted for Bond's tux. According to E Online, former soap star turned TV plastic-surgeon Julian McMahon ["Nip/Tuck"] is in talks to be Brosnan's replacement. "Yes, you heard me right, tubers. A reliable source tells me that Julian McMahon is meeting with Barbara Broccoli (Bond producer) this week to discuss the possibility of him playing the part. Seems he's a good candidate because (1) he's dead sexy, (2) his TV series has a short run, so his schedule is easy to work around, and (3) did I mention he's dead sexy?", says E Online's Kristin. She continues, "He's under contract with Nip/Tuck, so, from what I understand, it would have to be filmed during his hiatus. And that should be fairly easy because Nip/Tuck does only a dozen or so episodes, not the usual 22. Now, mind you, this might be something of a long shot, but, personally, I can think of no one better for the role. And, personally, I can think of no one better for the role of a Bond girl than this Kristin chick who works at E! Just my professional opinion". Now THIS I would be interested in seeing.

I should start by saying the Bond movies are my life. OH MY GOD Hugh Jackman would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CRAP! Utterly ridiculous. Jackman should stick to beefcake roles and looking at Halle Berry's tits. Here are the facts: Bond must be suave and believably charmingBond must not be built like the proverbial brick shithouse - he's a secret agent. However, he must have a dark side to him, and have depth to his character. This character is not young. Remember, he's on more than his twentieth world saving mission. Johnny Depp looks like he's spenty twenty years at a beauty parlour! The movies make a career begin, not get bigger. Connery was nobody, Brosnan was next to nobody (bar Remington Steele), Dalton wasn't much, Lazenby is still nobody (he's great in "That's Armageddon", though ;D). The only Bond who'd had a major career beforehand was Roger Moore, and he sucked harder than a $20 whore . No. You should kickstart a promising career with Bond, not pander to someones ego - you'd end up fitting the character to your star, not the other way round. He can never be american. Ever. I'll kill him first. Now lets look at your options: Orlando Bloom: Nope. He's a nancy. And too young, and I hate him. Johnny Depp: Wouldn't stick with it. Hugh Jackman: Wouldn't blend in at a muscleman's convention. I just think he's wrong for it. Ben Affleck: Oh God, No. Eric Bana: Doesn't want to be typecast. Guy Pearce: Could pull it off, if he wanted. Clive Owen: I'd say he's perfect for it, having seen the Bourne Identity. He's my choice. Jeremy Northam: Does suave, but a bit outdated. Christian Bale: Would be good, but he's signed elsewhere. Tom Cruise- Fails on superstar status, and likes to have the controls! Ricky Gervais: Please - be brave! I wish someone had seen the potential in Matt Damon. He'd be the only american for the part. Too young though! Stern and Overopinionated, Algo

So Matt Damon is the only American you wouldn't kill if he tried to grab the role, algo?
I agree Christian Bale would be alright in Bond's suit but neither Clive Owen or Guy Pearce look the part to me. They're cool, true, but they don't really have a Bond's face.

Ben Afleck is a no... that was a joke...
I still say Heath or Johnny...
Ideally Johnny but I doubt he would go for that, just seems too commercial or 'unchallenging', although they may like the idea of him since his Jack Sparrow stint has brought him alot of commercial success... who knows...
Ewan McGregor... em... Clive Owen... fuck it who cares lol.

Bart, you have something against Cuba? Welllllllllllllllllllll... Does he look like Bond? And what I have against Cuba is mainly that, uh, he doesn't choose good movies anymore. His Oscar role is still the only one that really struck me as very good. You're a fan, livingdeadgirl?

Yeah, I've been fan since back in the Boyz N The Hood & Judgment Night days. I mean, I'm not obsessive about him, he's just one of those actors that if he's in a movie I'll watch it no matter how bad it turns out to be. The same way w/ Forrest Whittaker, they've just got such a strong screen presence & personalities. The last Cuba movie I saw was "Radio"...excellent movie! I cried all the way through it.

And you haven't seen Wayne Wang's Smoke? Forrest acts his butt off there! Really - one of his greatest performances. Do see this movie, livingdeadgirl! About Radio: yeah, I heard Cuba's good there. Will check this one out.
