Thanks Phoenix. I was curious about wether or not people liked this film or not. I have yet to see it & given the fact that Focus Features released it, it should be on my "To buy list" You mentioned that the video quality isn't all that great. I thought the same with another Focus Feature film.. Broken Flowers. If its of the same quality (DvD), I can deal.

Just basically waiting for these to be passed by IMDb: Lon Chaney Jr. marathon, and some good old-fashioned viewing: The Alligator People-Decent movie, but generally pretty dull overall. Had a great Chaney turn, and the ending is pure 50's cheese, so it's worth seeing for some reason. imdb.com/title/tt0052549/usercomments-17The Wolf Man-Classic movie, but again, not that big on the reluctant werewolf or killing by strangulation. Still not bad, and very worthy of a look. www.imdb.com/title/tt0034398/usercomments-102

Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2006)
This kind of movie is difficult to review. One could be very afraid of losing their credibility for liking it. I say, fuck it. I found it hilarious.
Humor is a subjective thing. You either find something funny or you don't. And who here can say with a straight face that they don't enjoy watching Adam Sandler movies? Yeah, we know we're not supposed to, because they have no "nutritional value". Well, consider this type of movie the "candy" of cinema, and I will not apologize for enjoying a 3 Musketeers bar every once in a while.
If you enjoy Larry's redneck stand-up (see: Blue Collar Comedy Tour), I don't see any reason you wouldn't enjoy this. If not, then skip it. I loved this movie. Even if that laughs won't stand up the second time over (as most jokes do not), I was in stitches once, and that was well enough, thank you. GIT R DONE!
Note: due to the type of movie this is, I'm not going to grade it on the usual criteria. A mere 65% will suffice.

I do enjoy his stand-up and plan on seeing this tomorrow. Thanks Smitty. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can admit they like Larry. ;D

Well, I liked "Punch-Drunk Love." As for "The Squid and the Whale", I don't think that's a movie that can be fully appreciated unless you've had parents who've gone through a divorce or Godforbid you've gone through a divorce yourself. Otherwise it's like watching in on something really strange. I don't know. But joint custody DOES blow. Oh, and I rewatched "Y Tu Mama Tambien" last night.

Good. Looks like something to look for at the cinema. But, shouldn't this post have been a full review in Review Hell? I don't have enough about the movie to warrant a full review besides my liking it and a bit of justification for liking it.

Stay Alive (2006)
I WANTED to see Inside Man, but I think I was probably in the minority. Sad thing about this movie is, it had potential to be a Horror classic. It had the atmosphere, suspense and frights necessary to pull it off. What ruins it (quite a lot, actually) is the PG-13 rating.
Because this movie is rated PG-13, I'm going to suggest you skip it. A lot of the movie doesn't make any sense BECAUSE a lot of it was cut out to make for a PG-13. It also made the dialogue unrealistic (who the Hell says "stinks" anymore?), and removes the shock factor. Consider me disappointed.
