This is the Halloween Extravaganzza Recommendation Thread (idea stolen from the "Top Ten Must-Own CD's" thread--sorry!).
Because I love October and Halloween so much, I'd like for everyone here to saunter over at least five, but as high as 10 or 15 gruesome, vile, violent, visually offensive, terrifying, frightening, nightmarish horror films. The more extreme and repulsive the better. Why? Because I have nothing better to do this month than watch oodles of horror since the wife and I never made Halloween plans. For my juicy list of sumptuous recommendations, just keep yer eyes on the Guess the Gore thread--I picked some good films there!!
Thanks boys and ghouls!!

Well, if I may offer some totally gruesome suggestions:
Cannibal Holocaust (I hope that's out already) Land of the Dead Unrated City of the Living Dead The Beyond Special Edition Zombie 2 25th Anniversary Edition Cannibal Ferox Pieces Suspiria Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS (great torture scenes) Guinea Pig 2: Land of Blood and Honey ( I hope that's the right surname?) Audition
Any of these will fit right in for your request. Sorry to use so many foreign films, but when was the last time you saw an American gore film actually have a ton of gore in it?

That is a good list--I've only seen four of those.
Hey--I put up a link to the disgruntled form of the current picture in the Gore thread--give it a shot. Frankenjohn didn't get the scene yet! Bart got the movie, though...

Bart got the movie, though... No problem. Glad my sick mind could help out a fellow member put a sick twist on a sick day. Sorry, I've yet to see this version of the film. I was going for Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but I have no idea as to what the scene is. Sorry. I'll go for the third picture, unless I can see the movie before someone gets it, but with all the great guessers on this board, I won't hold my breath...or maybe I should. The lack of oxygen might make my mind think faster.

Haven't seen the '88 Blob?? Oh you're missing out, aside from some relatively poor stop-motion animation here and there, that movie is practically a gorehound's dream! It's not just gore--it's gore that's dissolving! Occasionally, it can be found at Wal-Mart for $5.

Sounds right up my alley, another one of those crapics that I should love. Sounds like fun, and if that price is right, I won't hurt my wallet too much.

Guinea Pig 2: Land of Blood and Honey ( I hope that's the right surname?) Nope, it's "Flowers of flesh and blood".

Try to watch horror movies I've never seen every year for Halloween while handing the kiddies candy.
Last year we watched 'PUMPKINHEAD' for Halloween. It was great!
This year we have lined up 'House of 1000 Corpses' and 'Dead and Breakfast'
The last two aren't really suggestions cause I've never seen them - and I have a feeling just about every horror movie I've ever seen you've already seen Quorthon. You're a guru of the genre!

You'll likely beat me to Dead and Breakfast--I haven't seen it yet!
Pumpkinhead, now there's a nice film. I even have the McFarlane figure of the big guy!

My recommendation goes for:
Manhattan Baby (may lack in gore but makes up for it in atmosphere) Trauma (an underrated Argento film) Aftermath (there's all the gore and necrophilia you ever needed; from the infamous Nacho Cerda) Genesis (another Cerda's short film - this time poetic and creepy rather than gory) The Wicker Man (no gore but lots of weirdness and Christopher Lee) Amsterdamned (a Dutch twist on the slasher genre: wicked!) The Stuff (my favourite Larry Cohen movie) Obsession (not even a horror film but its atmosphere of neverending mystery, the doppelganger twists and the sheer suspense make it a perfect Halloween treat; one of De Palma's best!)

Oh, yeah, my recomendations:
- Haute Tension (uncut version, of course). - Ju-on: the grudge (it absolutely has to be the japanese version. Either the first one or the sequel). - Idle hands (hey, some blood-soaked comedy to lessen up the tensions...). - House of wax 2004 (brainless, gory fun). - House of wax 1953 (elegant, atmospheric creepiness with a nice smidge of perversity in the mix). - Halloween (well, duh). - Black christmas (but then, why should Halloween get all the fun?). - The beyond. - The Evil Dead trilogy. - Alucarda (Mexican horror at its' surreal, gory best). - Videodrome (the very definition of a mind-fuck movie). - Altered states (same as the above).
So, which ones of these have you seen? Liked them? Hated them?

I only saw the most obvious films from your list, Fenril: The Evil Dead Trio, The Beyond, Altered States, Haute Tension, Halloween and Idle Hands. Liked all of them.

Think I'll watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). Only seen it once, great remake imo.
