Figured I'd start this thread off w/ some cool news...

It's not quite "Evil Dead 4" (you can hammer on about that one as long as you like - there's more chance of Naomi Watts offering to do my dishes) but Bruce Campbell's doing something that should float your boat 'near' just as much.

"In the Fall I’m going to start a new film for Dark Horse comics, a cool company set in Portland, they’re making movies now. It’s an untitled Bruce Campbell movie where I play myself", the legendary B-superstar tells Kotaku. "It’s about a small town that is having problems with a monster and nothing’s working so somebody suggests let’s get the Evil Dead guy. Unfortunately, in reality I don’t own a gun, I’ve never used a chainsaw and more die then before I got there."

It's the nearest we're going to get to the chainsaw-wielding chap from the Sam Raimi helmed "Evil Dead" series. Campbell again rules out a fourth chapter.

"As far as Evil Dead (yawn) 4. Sam Raimi is too busy making wheel-barrels of money right now", he says.

The idea of Evil Dead 4 was only a vague possibility after Spider-Man 3. But Raimi hinted at least once that he wouldn't be against doing a total of 6 Spidey movies.

When is the Man With the Screaming Brain supposed to come out? That's the Campbell film I'm waiting for.

Screaming Brain screens August 18th here in Tampa after a book signing by Bruce at a downtown book store. My friends and I are going to buy the tix this weekend to see it! ;D

I'm not sure yet - it depends if I can get off work early enough that day and if the weather isn't 100 gazillion degrees (to stand in line) I guess it would be a perfect opportunity to have a full 'Bruce Campbell day.'

I do want to buy his book so I might as well get it there and signed. Have you ever met him (or anyone else on the board)?

A Bruce Campbell day sounds lovely. ;D No, I've never met him but when his last book came out he was here (in the state) for a book signing and reading and my brothers went & met him & got books. They also got one autographed for me and gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I had to work the night of the signing so I couldn't go.

I saw Bruce this weekend in the movie Sky High - he was pretty much the best part. ;D

Is Man with the Screaming Brain touring like Bubba Ho-Tep did? Is there a "tour" schedule yet?

He is having more of a book-signing tour than anything, although from what i understand most of the screenings for his movie are after the signings (like here in tampa).
