So, a new year, a new place to list what you happened to view on the old boob-tube.
New Year's Rockin' Eve with Dick Clark (last time I let my sister chose programming for the event)

Work It-An out-of-work husband must dress in drag in order to join the all-female corporation that represents the best opportunity for a new job. While the initial premise doesn't really offer up a whole lot to work with (this one won't really last too long in it's current state since you can't do too much without really spoiling the intentions) giving this one more of a feature-film intention, there's still some fun to be had here. The work-place girls seem like fun, the interactions the first few weeks should be pretty decent and it's got potential to do something with the premise, but frankly I don't really see it going on for a long period of time but I'll enjoy it regardless.

Whitney Are You There, Chelsea?-A woman with a heavy drinking problem tries to get closer to her religiously-obsessed sister as she tries to make her life with her friends and co-workers more bearable. Starts off on a great note, as this one has a lot to like initially due to a great premise, some wonderful characters (if perhaps just a bit overstuffed so soon into the show's beginning, but that would be the only fault here so far) and the great potential to get some nice storylines in the years to come. A nice start, let's see where it goes. Modern Family Happy Endings

The Big Bang Theory Rob!-Getting a quickie marriage, a couple finds their cultural differences far greater than expected when they make the announcement to her strict Latino parents. Again, this one was a lot more fun than expected and definitely had a lot going for it. The characters are a lot of fun, it plays up the stereotypes to the right note and doesn't make them extremely unbearable and they've got some room to grow in the years to come. I don't see the lead actually being the best character here as he isn't given much to do but flail around like a moron, but I've seen much worse out there.

Which one of the newest shows do you consider your fave, slayrrr? There are so many of them on now and I'm sooo behind in my TV-watching that I really need to know which are the ones really, truly worth my time.

Well, if you're just talking about shows that premiered this year, I'd say Whitney and 2 Broke Girls. I keep forgetting to mention that second one, but I love it and think it's really enjoyable and quite funny, while Whitney is probably the main new show I watch. The last two weeks' episodes were great and hilarious, I'm really getting into it and I think it's got the best chance to go somewhere.
It's also about a year or so out but I immensely enjoy Happy Endings, it's getting up there among my favorites rather quickly and definitely has a lot of good stuff about it. Those would be my top choices, though I should also mention my favorite show going currently, Modern Family. I'd be remiss to talk about it in such a thread like this.

I started watching season 1 of Modern Family some time ago, liked it, and then suddenly didn't have time to keep up with it... Gotta love the improv style of the show - after all, Curb Your Enthusiasm is still one of my all time TV favourites!

Oh, it's definitely gotten better than the first season. So much fun and I agree, that improv style that it comes off like is highly addictive.
On another note, Bart, has the TV show Metal Evolution made it there yet? It's the TV series from the guy that did the Headbanger's Journey documentary, and they did an episode on Power Metal last night. Good stuff, as they got Helloween, Hammerfall and Nightwish in there amongst others, and it's pretty cool. I've been pretty bad at keeping up with it, as they've moved the premier dates around for most of the episodes for me so I missed a lot of them, but I made sure to catch this one since it would be of interest due to the musical side being explored, and figured I'd give you a heads-up on looking out for it. It just had it's first run for me on Sunday so it's not an old episode you need to hope they play, I just got it first a day or so ago.
