I keep meaning to check out the british "Being human"... Excellent show! I've been watching it since the beginning. Much better than the American version on SyFy Just started watching the new and final season of Rescue Me Yeah, I've heard the American version was pretty bad, so I'm trying to get the original one. Certainly the premise sounds like it could be something really good or something really dumb, so... I didn't know Rescue me was still on. I did like the first two or so seasons, trough in the same trashy vein as shows like "Nip / Tuck" or "Titus".

The American version isn't horrible, but not nearly as good as the original. Better writing and storylines on the original.

The Big Bang Theory Whitney-I have to admit, some of the stuff I've seen for this one online make it look pretty good (or at the very least worth checking out), so I deiced to give it a shot and came away not exactly stunned by definitely intrigued. Decent premise, good crop of supporting characters (more appearances by the mom from "Malcolm in the Middle"!) and something that won't really hurt too much and it might not be so bad in the future.

Zombies: A Living History-A documentary that I have incredibly mixed feelings about, as there's about an even split as to when it's immanently cool and when it stops becoming watchable and just plain boring. The first hour is where it's one of the best experiences and authoritative measures on the subject possible, exploring not just zombies in film but going through history and uncovering the fascination/fear of mankind's treatment of the dead around the world in different cultures throughout time, and this is guaranteed to generate at least three new factoids into your general knowledge no matter who you are. Spliced in with zombie reenactments and it's a true winner in every sense of the word. Then it switches over at the hour mark to include modern history (specifically 9/11) and the general climate of the time comparing those to what would've happened had those events generated a zombie epidemic, and besides being incredibly uninteresting, it's also off-topic since it deals with the possibilities of what would've happened under those conditions to generate a zombie outbreak. The last part detailing mankind's interest in the creatures in pop-culture, from the movies to costuming and other such areas, does redeem this a bit. There's also a contrast in tone as the subject matter covered is pretty bleak and grim, yet each signal to commercial break is covered by a martial artist demonstrating possible weapons of self-defense in a zombie battle, so the light-hearted scenes mesh oddly with the scenes of gruesome flesh-eating. Still, though, try to catch the first half as it's wholly entertaining.
