The Legend of Bloody Jack-A group of friends on a weekend retreat in the mountains as part of an anniversary celebration come across an immortal killer that is hunting them down one by one with no remorse. The killer here is a total joke, the backstory is never mentioned despite the fact that it's set-up in the opening moments yet never given it's full share, and the low-budget nature of this is painfully evident all the way through, but it still manages to maintain such a sense of fun that it overcomes all these negatives. With a lot of stalking, a great weapon for the kills, and lots of blood and nudity, this one is a real blast, just with a few minor points.
Axe- Two women on a road trip to renew their friendship run across a biker gang threatened by their invasion of their turf and a homicidal maniac out on a killing spree. This was again, a lot of fun mainly because this was almost like an action movie instead of a horror film, but with the added bonus of using both genre types to exploit the other one. From chases, shootouts and stalking, this one almost never stops, and aside from a brief subplot that makes no sense and really shouldn't have been developed, this one ranks as highly watchable.
Method-An actress hoping to make her comeback playing a role about a homicidal female killer starts to act a little too lifelike when the cameras aren't rolling, leading others to wonder if she's playing it too close to truth. More of a thriller for the majority of the time, and with only a few mildly related horror elements namely coming in such small spurts that it's hard to really gauge this one effectively. As the film portrays her activities shooting the movie and using that as it's main narrative theme, it doesn't focus a lot on her off-camera the way the plot description makes it sound, so this one wasn't all that good.

666: The Child-Moved by his story, a couple adopt a young boy who is the sole survivor of a horrific plane crash, unaware of his true nature as the individual named in an ancient prophecy to signal the end of mankind despite him being at the center of a never-ending series of freak accidents to those around him. Yeah, it's an Omen rip-off, but it's a damn good one. The accidents are brought into more detail, there's a great atmosphere around the search to find him, and the fact that there's so many nods and winks at The Omen that it becomes kinda fun after a while. One that those who find such blatant rip-offs of films terrible will want to avoid.
666: The Beast-Fully grown-up, the young child from the first film finally understands his true nature and sets out fulfilling the prophecy, as a secret society committed to stopping it races to get his wife who will stop it from happening. Speaking of avoiding, this one was just pretty bad. Long, long, long stretches of time where it doesn't play out at all like a horror film, tons of time where it's supposed to be scary are just lame, and with a few good moments here and there, this one wasn't worthwhile at all.

Island of the Dead-A woman inspecting a small island off the New York coast for a dead body needed for identification before burial comes across a tycoon building a housing development there, and both are menaced by the swarm of flies living there. Not a zombie film, but rather an incredibly lame and utterly dull creature feature about simple, non-enhanced flies running rampant on a deserted island. No explanations for anything, lots of talking, lame kills and really only a small section where a few decent attacks are make this passable. Otherwise, this one just isn't worthwhile.

The Eighteenth Angel-Upon moving to Italy in order to get over his wife's suicide, a man and his young daughter discover the whole affair was a ploy orchestrated by a Satanic coven determined to use his daughter as a vehicle to resurrect Satan in the new world. Takes an incredibly long time to get going, is filled with a ton of moments where it's supposed to be getting it's story out rather than investing in action, so it's pacing is a little off, but it's still somewhat entertaining, there's enough action at the end to make up a little bit for earlier indiscretions, and it does have a fair share of suspense. It's actually not all that bad, but could use some work.

Mothman-A group of friends find themselves at the center of a series of grisly accidents perpetuated by a strange creature when one of them returns to the small town she left when they accidentally killed a friend years ago. A pretty good Sci-Fi Channel creature feature, only in that, because it's based on a real one, this one gets everything about this totally wrong. Content, execution, and just about everything else about the creature here is wrong, and a couple of other small flaws hurt this one, but due to the high number of attacks and the extremely fun finale manage to make this one a better entry for it.
Octane-On a road trip together, a woman scrambles to track down the mysterious cult that kidnapped her daughter from her, and discovers a much more dangerous collection of people who are trying to shield her than she figured. Gets interesting only at the end, as the rest of this is a thriller built solely around the premise that it's only scary if it would've happened to you, but on film it just turns out dull. It's a thriller, but an above-average one still due to the realism of the depictions used, and a couple admittedly-creepy scenes, but just not all the way good.
The Hitchhiker-Traveling to Las Vegas for a girls-only weekend, a group of women stumble upon a stranger hitchhiking his way to Vegas and decide to pick him up, only to realize that he's a psychopath and is intent on torturing them for fun. Could've been a whole lot worse than it was, as it gets a lot sleazier than you would expect, the extra bodies mean more bloody mayhem, and the finale is great, but still haunted by an ungodly boring and completely uninteresting beginning, as well as several other small factors that don't bump this up over the good stuff.

The Devil's Curse- A group of British students find alternative housing in an abandoned building while it's owner is on vacation, but the strange growls and voices they keep hearing may be the demon conjured up by a previous occupant that is determined to escape it's restrictions within. It's no secret I'm not a fan at all of the current crop of British horror to come out (they all seem to have the same flaw in them: even when it's supposed to be really suspenseful or exciting, you never get a feeling of excitement from the film and it stays so low-key and relaxed you start to feel bored) and this one comes up just like those as well, but it does something the others haven't: a feeling of atmosphere is present here that manages to set-up the events that come nicely, and while it's pretty lame at times, I actually found stuff to like here and there, so maybe there's hope in the future.

Mongolian Death Worms-A treasure hunter in the Mongolian desert agrees to help out a Humanitarian group trying to solve an epidemic in the area, and stumble across a series of mythical, giant worms guarding the treasure he's been seeking. A lot of fun, and one of the better ones they've done, but because they've got a lot of good stuff done this year, it'll be almost impossible for this one to get it's just deserved. It also doesn't help that there's a few flaws, but that still doesn't erase that there's a lot to like in here as well, and is certainly a worthwhile addition to their cannon.

Dead End-A family on a road trip through the desert wind up on the wrong side of some supernatural force and must discover the cause of which that keeps interfering with their activities. A lot more atmospheric than expected, this one turned out surprisingly decent despite it sounding like crap. It's more of a thriller, but it's got enough horror elements to make it worthwhile, and while the finale is stupid, it's still pretty enjoyable.
I Sell the Dead- While awaiting the guillotine, a man recounts the story of him and his partner's quest to dig up the bodies of the dead to deliver to a doctor for medical study, and how one such encounter lead to them encountering the dead walking the Earth. Granted, this one is supposed to be about zombies, and when you get around the fact that this one doesn't even introduce them until over an hour in, then it's pretty good. It's certainly an atmospheric film, and there is some charm in the humor and situations, so it is watchable, but as a zombie film, this one utterly sucks due to their lack of screentime.
The Stepfather- Returning home from military school, a teen discovers his mom's new boyfriend will go to extreme lengths to keep a psychotic image of the perfect family together, and that he and his family are in big trouble. Pure, utter, absolute shit. Not even worth mentioning, not even worth a review when I get my computer fixed. Officially the bottom of the barrel with the modern remake trend.
The Last House in the Woods- Saved from a rape attempt, a woman and her boyfriend take up shelter in their rescuer's house, unaware of the deadly secret they hide within that is soon unleashed upon them with a ferocious vengeance. The rumors call this the goriest Italian film in years, and man are they right. This one is messy, and it's just the way I like it. With a lot to love about this one and only a few minor, barely worthwhile flaws, this one ranks up with one of the best they've done.

Incubus-Growing tired of luring corrupt souls into the pits of Hell, a female demon conspires to bring a soul of good down to their level, but once she grows human emotions towards him, she realizes he's stuck in the middle of a terrible battle for his being. A bit of a mixed bag here, as it's got a lot of rather good action mixed in with it's atmospheric surroundings (whoever supplied the fog for this one's set made a fortune) and it lends to some rather creepy scenes, but it's just way too long in the middle with their lame romance being built up, misses several opportunities to build some creepy moments in, and the finale is entirely laughable, but in the end, it's still watchable.
The Brotherhood of Satan-While enjoying a drive together, a family stumbles upon a strange town filled with malicious accidents directed solely so a Satanic coven can quietly sneak 13 children away so they can use their blood to extent their life-cycle. Another undoubtedly British film, only a bit older than the recent ones I've been engaged in, and to see those problems going back for so long is thoroughly disappointing. When it does manage to start up it's Satanic fun, though, with it's rituals, Black Masses and so forth, it's incredibly fun and enjoyable. This was a pretty decent film it just got rid of it's British-ness.

Student Bodies-After a rash of murders, a group of college students are determined to solve the identity of the killer and stop him before he is able to ruin the upcoming school dance that is endangered of being canceled. Quite possibly the greatest slasher-comedy in the genre, this one is just intent on skewering the conventions and playing everything up for laughs that it is literally impossible to stop laughing at this. Sure, it's cheesy and stupid, and as a horror film it utterly fails since it's not going to scare anyone, but as a comedy, this one is nearly flawless. Truly hilarious.

5ive Girls-Sent to a reformatory school, a young teen finds that the other women there are just like here, gathered together by an ancient prophecy to open the gates to other dimensions home to ravenous demons, and they have to stop it before they can arrive on Earth. Not nearly as creepy as it could've been, even though there is some decent attempts early on, but this is more based around the sleaze and action present. Due to it being an all-girls dorm, there's frequent topless and a pseudo-lesbian storyline to account for the nudity, and the last thirty minutes is almost strictly all action. I certainly enjoyed it a lot.

Bram Stoker's Dracula's Curse-When a group of rogue vampires decide to break a long-held pack of abstaining from feeding on human blood, a former group of vampire hunters reform with the help of a clan dedicated to restoring the former alliance to stop the group from starting a war with humanity. Hardly any action at all occurred in here, other than a pair of scenes bookmarking the film at the beginning and the end. Almost everything else in here is dominated by everyone talking with each other about what's going on, where the villain is or what they're going to do to stop them, and literally nothing happens. There's a somewhat sleazy scene in the middle that really should've been more involving in the plot, but it's a waste to have such a great scene stuck in the middle of so much crap around it.
Altered-Arriving at a friend’s house, a group of rednecks carrying an alien hostage that once abducted them all start to exact revenge on the creature, a process that gets incredibly more violent and dangerous the longer the creature's in their possession. Started off alright, got better and better still, then slipped in the end into mediocrity with a series of lame sequences or just going way too outlandish when it really shouldn't. It's quite bloody and gets some good marks off a couple high-profile suspense scenes, but it still is weighed down by a few flaws.
Dark Floors-Getting off an elevator at a hospital, a small group of visitors find themselves trapped in a nightmarish parallel dimension where they are assaulted by deadly demons intent on using one of them for their devilish plans. Man, did this one come close to earning a full-on mark, it's not even funny. Highly, highly atmospheric, tons of creepy goings-on, a great mystery, fantastic creatures, it had it all, and this was in the first half-hour. Then it tried to explain things, and it left just about everything blank, so there's nothing explained about what's going on. Still, this one had a big shot and is still immensely enjoyable.
Tormented-Following a classmate's death, a group of friends find themselves stalked by a psychotic maniac intent on doling out justice for the years of abuse and bullying the group afflicted on the deceased. Quite possibly the best British horror film of the millennium, or at least one that goes for second place, since this one avoids that nearly-crippling problem area they almost all faced before in a seemingly lagging pace that renders everything quite dull and boring, while mixing in such a fantastic sense of humor as to make it all the more enjoyable. A fantastic slasher effort.
Prophecy-Sent to investigate a strange series of reports, a doctor finds the cause to be a chemical spill at a local logging plant that has turned a bear in the area into a deadly creature intent on killing anything and everything in it's path, leading them into a frantic race to escape the area alive. A lot better than expected, mainly due to the strength of the final half, which is strictly bear attacks and confrontations, leading to such high amounts of action that the early half is almost forgotten. A great creature, good kills, huge body count for the time, this one becomes really enjoyable.
