Overall I thought it was an okay series, through nowhere as good as some critics (mainly, the Fangoria magazine) make it out to be. Most episodes are gorier (or just plain more graphic) than scarier, thus fun to watch but easy to forget, IMHO. That's why the only reason I use Fango is for DVD release news and upcoming movies. They're reviews are so off it's annoying. Plus, they fall prey to my biggest pet peeve: they back a supposedly fun, gory film only to review it in it's PG-13 state and bitch about how there's nothing coming out in the theaters that's actually scary. I've learned the hard way after being hyped up a few too many times from the website about possible movies coming out (Cry_Wolf, Dark Water, Stay Alive, When a Stranger Calls) that I pretty much steer clear of anything other than the aforementioned DVD releases and recently lensing movies.

I just watched my first Masters of Horror episode. I've been reading and keeping up with most of the thread, so I saw Incident On & Off A Mountain Road (Cosarelli)... Good you're with us, Phoenix! Waiting for your thoughts on Carpenter's, Argento's, Miike's and, uh, Hooper's episodes. These seem to be the best discussion-stirrers of the whole bunch.

Watched "Cigarette Burns" last night.
It was just "okay" for me. The overall premise was interesting and I liked the direction but it felt like something was lacking. Reading all your reviews I agree with you guys.
So for now:
1.Coscarelli 2. Carpenter
Next will be "Dreams in the Witch House."

Dance of the Dead(Tobe Hooper)- Not one of my favorites, but it was ok, and it had Robert Englund so that was a plus for me. 1. Coscarelli 2. Landis 3. Garris 4. Argento 5. Dante 6. Gordon 7. Carpenter 8. Hooper 9. McKee

Just watched Imprint (Takashi Miike)...Not one of my favorites b/c I was confused about what was really going on. I haven't watched much Japanese horror so maybe that was the problem. Interesting concept though and the torture scene was great!
1. Coscarelli 2. Landis 3. Garris 4. Argento 5. Dante 6. Gordon 7. Carpenter 8. Miike 9. Hooper 10. McKee

...I was confused about what was really going on... That's why I ignore Asian horror in general. I get too confused and distracted too easily.

Just watched Pick Me Up...really liked this one! The acting was great, the plot was great (although the "twist" wasn't suprising...), not much gore but that's ok. One of the better ones so far.
1. Coscarelli 2. Landis 3. Garris 4. Cohen 5. Argento 6. Dante 7. Gordon 8. Carpenter 9. Miike 10. Hooper 11. McKee

The twist actually caught me off guard, don't know why. Thought it was one of the better qualities of the episode, which was pretty good overall.

*SPOILERS* I don't know...I just figured it couldn't end w/ the two killers fighting like that, so I thought maybe they'll get a taste of their own medicine..and they did! ;D

I was kinda expecting them to kill the ambulance workers and continue on, but when they started, it took me by surprise. And then when it turns off the sirens while driving through the fog was just brilliant.
