Just watched Incident On & Off A Mountain Road. Excellent! My favorite one of the 4 I've seen so far. I hope they hurry & announce plans for a box set....but I was thinking about buying this one if I can find it cheap on Amazon.
My revised rankings so far:
1. Coscarelli 2. Garris 3. Gordon 4. Carpenter
I've got Landis coming up next...

So I just checked out Deer Woman and Sick Girl, the two best ones so far. Deer Woman was really funny and had some great references. BTW, anyone catch Mick Garris as the jackpot winner in the Indian casino? Then there's Sick Girl, the best one so far. It's a great disturbing episode. And I think Lucky McKee has a thing with lesbians. So the order is: McKee Landis Gordon Coscarelli Carpenter Garris But it's all good, people!

While I wouldn't name McKee's as the best, his was the best of the second tier works, I found, and I found Landis and Argento vying for top spot, so I'm glad you liked the first one too.

Yeah, I caught that when I was watching it last night. ;D Really like this one! Very good dry humor in it. My second favorite so far. 1. Coscarelli 2. Landis 3. Garris 4. Gordon 5. Carpenter

Holy hell! I just saw the banned episode - Takashi Miike's Imprint; this guy, Miike, is just downright sick, man! Also, I guess he figured out he can come up with any sort of weird shit and still have it filmed - so that's exactly what he keeps on doing. I mean, Imprint is incoherent, pointless and disgusting, with Billy Drago overacting his ass off like he (probably) never did before. It gets points for being genuinely creepy and scary at several points (especially at the beginning) but... nahh, just not my type of horror, no way.
Here's what I think so far (still haven't seen Haeckel's Tale):
1. Argento - 9/10 2. Coscarelli - 8/10 3. Carpenter - 7/10 4. McKee - 7/10 5. Cohen - 7/10 6. Landis - 7/10 7. Gordon - 7/10 8. Malone - 6/10 9. Miike - 5/10 10. Dante - 4/10 11. Garris - 4/10 12. Hooper - 2/10

I don't get the big buzz over Miike. Sure, he can load his films with tons of gore and blood, but I've seen less competant directors make far more watchable films. I'm not a fan of his at all.

I just saw Homecoming and Pick Me Up. Homecoming was great but *BIG ASS SPOILER* I think that they should've let the guy live to help the zombies. *END BIG ASS SPOILER*
Pick Me Up was good to, but I thought the ending was way too hokey. Michael Moriarty ruled though.
So now, the order is:
McKee Landis Dante Cohen Gordon Coscarelli Carpenter Garris

I liked the ending to Pick Me Up, I thought it was a great twist that I never did expect on first viewing. I liked it more than Homecoming, which should've been handled by Romero. It just didn't seem like a Dante film.

Watched Sick Girl last night and didn't really like it too much. I didn't HATE it, but just didn't enjoy it. The performances were pretty good though, esp. Angela Bettis. Guess it just wasn't my kind of horror. My least favorite of the series so far.
1. Coscarelli 2. Landis 3. Garris 4. Gordon 5. Carpenter 6. McKee
