Well I didn't know too much about it, but suddenly I switched into that flick accidentally when I flipped through channels on cable. I saw it not from the beginning but from the middle. Quite good I may say, though I'm not a fan of psychic flicks. There were a lot of retrospections so I could learn a bit about an overall plot. The theme is not new : deserted island and people trying to live there, but it reminded me a Big Brother or Robinsons tv show a bit. I have to watch more parts to have a better perspective. One part to little to decide whether it's good or not.

I've been keeping up and the shows been great.
I need some answers though! I can't believe I have to wait till may for new episodes.
Will the baby be good/evil? Is that even an issue? What is that weird tank!? Why did it light up? What are the numbers about? AGH!
SPOILER BELOW! WARNING!
I think the writers did choose a good character to bump off though - Boone had def run his course in the series. He was one of my least favorite.

He was definitely expendable. We already knew his backstory and he wasn't essential to the plot. He had become just kind of Locke's sidekick anyway. And he was only a "semi-main character". Wonder who else will be deemed expendable... I think all your questions will be answered in time. Patience, Grasshopper.

Damn!! Even more questions raised! And now I have to wait until who knows when, August or September, for the season premiere! How'd you like the science teacher's "goodbye"?? Honestly, I saw it coming as he was just carrying on too much about his "expertise". Still, pretty shocking.

SUPER SPOILERS BELOW!
LOVED the episode. Although the 'blowing up' bit must be very in vogue now - saw it a few days before on the Tarantino CSI finale! Although I like the quote 'Uh...you got some ARTSE on you.'
Did NOT see the whole 'others' thing coming though! And there was even a WOMAN 'others'
WOAH! Do you think everyone on the raft remains alive? I'm guessing...yes?
Great episode, too many damn questions, and excellent acting. I love how the flashbacks were sporadic as well. AND also loved the end - which could have been cheesy - where they show a flashback of all our favorite characters getting on the plane. Oh how far they have come. I'm converted. Can't wait til next season.

Yes, I loved that Hurley almost missed the plane, but somehow "luck" was finally with him. Will everyone on the raft survive? I guess that depends on how contract negotiations go over the summer. You just know that now that the show is a huge hit, some of the cast members will try to renegotiate their contracts. I'll just assume that any characters that suddenly turn up dead next season just didn't have as good an agent as others.

"Lost" Gets Fresh Blood
by Marcus Errico Jun 6, 2005, 8:05 AM PT
Looks like Jack, Sayid, Kate, et al. are getting some more company on mystery island.
ABC confirmed Monday that Michelle Rodriguez will join Lost's cast of castaways full-time next season. The news was first reported by E! Online TV columnist Krisitin Veitch. (This story contains possible spoilers, so consider yourself alerted.)
In part one of last season's finale, Rodriguez's character, Ana-Lucia Cortez, was briefly shown in a flashback scene flirting with Matthew Fox's Jack in a Sydney airport bar before the ill-fated Oceanic flight 815 boarded. She and Jack compared seat assignments (Jack was in the middle of the plane, she was in the tail section) before she got a cellphone call and left him hanging.
Although ABC and Lost masterminds J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof won't say exactly in what capacity Rodriguez will be appearing, speculation is already rampant that she will not be relegated merely to flashbacks. Lost message boards are filling up with possible scenarios to explain her character's addition to the cast, with the leading theory being that, as some of the plane-crash survivors surmised during the first season, passengers in the tail section of the airliner landed on an as-yet unexplored nook of the island and will be reunited with the main ensemble in season two.
When last we left the show, which was one of the season's biggest rookie hits, averaging nearly 16 million viewers, Jack, Locke, Kate and Hurley had blasted opened the mysterious hatch and found...a long, dark passageway. Meanwhile, Michael, Walt, Jin and Sawyer's boat ride was interrupted by the less than neighborly "Others," a group of men who intercepted the raft, kidnapped the seemingly clairvoyant Walt, shot Sawyer and blew up the vessel. Michael was left treading water among the wreckage as Jin dove in to try to save Sawyer.
Aside from the Rodriguez casting tidbit, the show's brain trust is throwing another bone to loyal fans to keep them occupied over the summer. A new Website has been launched for Lost's fictional Oceanic Airlines at Oceanic-Air.com, containing secret messages, behind-the-scenes info on the show and a trailer for season two. (Hint: Use Hurley's cursed numbers, if you dare.)
Rodriguez, 26, hit Hollywood's radar after her breakout performance in the Sundance hit Girlfight. She has also appeared in The Fast and the Furious, Blue Crush, Resident Evil and S.W.A.T. She recently wrapped the Wes Craven-produced horror flick Breed and a voice role in the Latin-themed animated film Sian Ka'an with Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina.
The first season of Lost will be available on DVD on Sept. 6, ahead of the debut of the second season, which will now air in the 9 p.m. slot on Wednesday.

Well I enjoyed reading all your guys comments about the show finally. I refused to watch it on Tv so I bought the dvd set & finished it today. On the dvd set (disc 1) is a spoiler free ad for Season 2. I of course took no chances & pressed the skip button on the remote. I'll get back to that ad in just a second. Terry O'Quinn is a great actor who is well known for his work on Millinneium with Lance Henriksen & also had a role in the X-Files movie. Only other familiar face on the Island to me was Harold Perrineau Jr. (Link) from the Matrix sequels so I enjoyed getting to know the other characters as their stories progressed throughout Lost. The final episodes Exodus Part 1 & Part 2 combined for a total running time of more than two hours est. commercial free. This time we get to see flashback scenes from just about every main character on the island. Most of which were scenes of them getting on the plane. Nothing too revealing. In realtime we finally see what's in the hatch (A Pathway leading where?), The fate of the raft & yet another group of people who want a child? I am eagerly awaiting the second season as most of you are, but again I will show patience & watch it in widescreen & uncut after its network run. Now I mentioned this spoiler free ad. Well thats what tvshowsondvd.com had called it. Well you don't have to show footage to spoil a show, granted this isn't something you see & say, well thats it, game over man. A simple message from the ad goes a little something like; possible spoiler for second season, -They will find out they are not the survivors .......That ad sorta confirms Heineken's above post about the Others. Cool. btw, My favorite cast member & character is John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) See ya back in this thread or the season 2 thread next year.

Man, you're definitely more patient than me. After seeing Season 1, there's no way I could just skip the entire Season 2 as it's aired on tv and wait for it to be released on DVD.

Katey Sagal is the latest actor tapped to guest-star on ABC's Lost in its upcoming second season, playing a woman named Helen in the new season's third episode airing Oct. 5 and also featuring another appearance by Locke's father (played by Kevin Tighe), TV Guide Online reported.
