[ Other than that, there is nary a movie made that could scare Quorthon That's the sad part, I think I've just watched too much horror that my scare tolerance is so high that nothing scares me or creeps me out anymore. Or maybe it's just what's been discussed before, that "horror" is so watered down now that it's not really horror anymore. I just keep wishing someone would come up w/ something new to scare me with.

I just keep wishing someone would come up w/ something new to scare me with. How about the fact that Bush was reelected? That's some pretty scary shit!

That's the sad part, I think I've just watched too much horror that my scare tolerance is so high that nothing scares me or creeps me out anymore. Or maybe it's just what's been discussed before, that "horror" is so watered down now that it's not really horror anymore. I just keep wishing someone would come up w/ something new to scare me with. I think you're right on two accounts. I'm really desensitized to horror because I was pretty much raised on it (by my Mom). I just watched Cheerleader Camp and thought it was boring, predictable, and formulaic. Not that there was any notion that it would be anything more, but I had to give it a shot. Also, horror films these days really are watered down--really, really watered down. In the last two years, we were treated to no fewer than 10 PG-13 horror/thrillers. There's a lot held back to get that rating--and it causes the tension and scares to be predictable and the same from one movie to another. Hollywood simply doesn't know how to make scary horror films anymore. Sure Saw was R, but so poorly made that I wanted to punch the people who sold me the ticket. And as for Bush, sure he's a dullard president, but after Kerry's and his cohorts disrespectful, immature performance and attitudes, like all the booing, at the State of the Union Address, I think the real monster showed his fangs then. Also Kerry's revenge vote against Condoleeza Rice--nice attitude that man has. Really mature.
