I'll probably see this new Salem's Lot in, like, five years - that's how damn long it usually takes these movies to arrive to Poland. But what the hell! Good to hear it doesn't disappoint! Men In Thighs lame, frankenjohn? Hope Smitty won't come here to read it.

Salem's Lot was pretty cool. The second part, actually the last hour was better than the rest. Overall, good movie though! The vampire make-up & effects were suprisingly good for a tv movie too.

I thought this remake or new adaptation of SALEM'S LOT was just "okay". I can't really compare it to the original as I haven't seen it since I was a kid and the only thing I remembered from it was that creepy kid floating outside the window. I also haven't read the book in many, many years. I thought Rob Lowe was really wooden in the lead role. I saw him change his expression once during the entire 4 hours of the series. And what a monotone voice! Rutger Hauer as Barlow on the other hand, totally hammed it up, chewing the scenery, the furniture and literally, the other actors. Andre Braugher was good as the teacher. And Donald Sutherland was effectively creepy as Barlow's "familiar". The effects were good, especially stuff like the vampire kids crawling around the ceiling of the bus and the woman who came back to life in the morgue. I also liked the way these vampires disappeared when they were killed. Unfortunately, except for some of that stuff, I thought the overall series was kinda dull. Watch it, but don't go out of your way. At least on DVD you won't have to sit through the seemingly endless commercials. **out of **** Oh, and I thought ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS was pretty lame too. Sorry, Smitty. But it was better than DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVING IT, which was a total waste of time. I haven't liked a Mel Brooks movie in years, but I highly recommend his live musical version of THE PRODUCERS, which is by far, the funniest live show I have ever seen. Pure genius! If you're in New York or it comes to your town, definitely check it out. Cheers!

Now I want to see Salem's Lot even more - so I can check which of your two camps I should support. As for Robin Hood: Men In Thighs... I like it. Yeah. Much better than Dracula: Dead And Loving It. More: one of my favourite Mel Brooks films!

Having you arse pulled insidse out by a rusty nail covered pole is better than "Dracula Dead and Loving It"... And "Bram Stoker's Dracula" fans should check the hair on Brook's Vamp.....Yes! it's the same! there was a reason why that hairstyle was used, unchanged, in a parody film. Because it's a joke! Wibble!

I pretty much agree w/ what Heineken said....I mean, it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be but it wasnt' as bad as I expected it would be. A big disappointment for me was Rob Lowe's performance. He showed more emotion & range as Nick in The Stand & he didn't even speak in that one.
