It finally arrives in Polish theatres - next week, I think! I'm not going to wait for the DVD release in this case! I eagerly await your thoughts! ;D

Finally saw it! A very good movie, no doubt, but... ...I wanted it to be a comedy till the end - and it wasn't! The final reel - at the Winchester - was a serious zombie drama, all the laughs gone. Why?! I'm glad that at least they closed the movie with a funny scene. However, I agree it's one of the best films this year and also one of the best zombie flicks around. Great acting, lots of funny stuff in the first hour of the film, some nasty gore, clever editing - good, good thing! 7,5 I'd say.

I hadn't laughed so hard at a movie since my first viewing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Ni!
I have to disagree with it being in the horror section. It should be in Comedy, because the tagline is SO corret (A Romantic Comedy. With zombies). Such a great film. I'm glad I caught it in theators.
I thought the ending was still funny, but it played down the laughs. I loved Shaun though Ed was annoying. I also thought it was great Harry Potter was in this movie (well, not Harry Potter per say, but the guy looked a lot like him).

I think it should be in the Horror section. The final 3rd becomes pretty serious and plays like a straight horror film for the most part. Certainly in it's attitudes to the character's deaths.

It was released on DVD this week in the States. Definitely going to be adding it to the collection. And even though the deaths are pretty serious, I still think it belongs in the comedy section. Just like AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.

Pulpmariachi and HeinekenSkywalker vs. 42ndStreetFreak and Bartwald it is then, as I also think it's more of a horror movie than a comedy. The laughs are great, that's true, but I think the cruelty may be totally discouraging for the fans of "normal" comedies; the fans of horror, on the other hand, usually accepted it.

I'd put "AWIL" as horror more than comedy as well. There are some very funny moments but the kills are done seriously and the last part of the film contains almost all horror except for the joke porn film.
Something lie "Young Frankenstein" is what i consider a comedy film with a horror stylings...not "Shaun" or "AWIL" . Certainly not "AWIL" which is basically the opposite; a horror film with comedic stylings

While I'll agree that American Werewolf is more horror than comedy, you won't convince me of the same with Shaun of the Dead, even the name is funny. Tagline: "A romantic comedy. With zombies." Guys, it's a comedy first, horror movie second. Serious kills or not, if I'm laughing through most of it, and I was, it's a comedy in my book. There are some serious kills in FARGO as well, but I still consider it a comedy. Granted, black comedy, but comedy nonetheless.

3-2 for a comedy, isn't it? Damn, we'll have to move the thread! Oh, come on - you must be kidding, right? It is a horror!
