Huh - I'd love to see this one, I can tell you that! But before Polish cinemas buy it I guess I'll already have it brought to me on DVD from amazon... which ain't so cool at all, as I really like to watch good horror at a theatre! And this little effort, Shaun Of The Dead, this looks damn promising!

From 42nd's review of Shaun:
One of the best comedy sequences has Ed and Shaun scurrying around trying to find weapons to defend themselves, after hearing on the news, which has a welcome cameo by actual 'Sky News' newsreader to convey the story, that only destroying the head will stop the zombies. In a panic they resort to throwing remote controls, pottery, cushions and then vinyl LP's at the corpses! And hysterically, as the flesh eating zombies stagger closer to them, they argue over which ones to risk throwing! 'Prince' is saved, 'Dire Straits' and 'Sade' are not!
;D

I just recently saw a trailer for this & it looks pretty damn funny! I really haven't heard much about it though so I didn't know if it would be worth seeing. From what you guys said, sounds like I should check it out!

Soon in the US! Rogue Pictures will release the eagerly awaited SHAUN OF THE DEAD September 17 in the U.S. The British horror/comedy, directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg, will also have its North American premiere at Montreal’s Fantasia film festival Friday, July 23.
Wright and Pegg also wrote SHAUN, in which the slacker title character and his best friend attempt to rescue Shaun’s mum and ex-girlfriend in the midst of an all-out zombie invasion of London(from Visions Of Terror)

Cool! I've been dying to see this since I saw the trailer for it awhile back. Glad to see it's finally making it to the US!

I already posted this in the "Off the Chest" section in the "Heineken's Movie Round-up 2004" thread, but here it is again for those of you who don't venture beyond the Horror section. Just when I thought that DAWN OF THE DEAD was the best zombie movie of the year, along comes SHAUN OF THE DEAD! Pretty damn brilliant! One minute your laughing your ass off, the next you're cringing at the onscreen disemboweling. Dead-pan humor and many in-jokes referencing other zombie movies. Smart, funny satire of the "zombifying" of people due to their jobs, relationships, etc. How many times have you felt like the walking dead as you go to your job? Add this one to the list of the few movies that can successfully mix comedy & horror. Not just the best zombie movie of the year, but one of the best movies of the year, period! 8.5/10

It gives me a new hope for the world of cinema when I hear that there is a horror movie around that you like so much, Heineken!

Me too, Bartwald. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. And I did also enjoy DAWN OF THE DEAD earlier this year. 2 good zombie movies in one year!! Who would've thought that was possible??

I would have thought that; I'd just have never thought that you may like two zombie flicks in a row Myself I was more than satisfied with the remake of Dawn Of The Dead, too!

I loved Shaun of the Dead as well! What a fun/great movie - I felt like my movie $$ was well spent. I laughed, I cringed, and a great ending! The makers (Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg) of the movie say it was really an homage to George Romero in a lot of ways, and that they wanted their movie to be in the same universe as Romero's trilogy of films. I think it worked out really well.
I still liked the Dawn of the Dead remake better because I love horror, but Shaun was pretty much a close second.

Hopefully I'll get to see this sometime in the near future. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

If you plan on seeing it in a theater, you'd better hurry. The box office for it here in the States has been okay, but not great.

It finally arrives in Polish theatres - next week, I think! I'm not going to wait for the DVD release in this case!
